IF the goal is crisis management and team unity, then maybe.

But what happened today is anything but ok.

Agreed. Free speech is being openly suppressed at this point if you're white, especially a white male.

I get why Drew did but dammit just once I want to see one of these people stick with their comments. That's one thing I admire about Trump, he has his beliefs and he sticks with them, even if everyone demands he apologizes. I really wish Drew hadn't apologized, he had nothing to apologize for.

I wouldn't exactly say nailed it.

He said brees could "find ways" to help the black community. He already has. People need to get fricking educated on that.

so brees said nothing wrong yet apologized for NOT BEING WRONG?

where the frick did brees disrespect the black guy killed wrongly? where?

I'd hate to see if brees threw out stats and facts like we do here. JFC then they would accuse him of being in the KKK or a neo nazi. This shite has to end.

can these clowns not protest on their own time? why is that so hard to understand? when these idiots do it during the anthem it is dumb and sends wrong signal and they wonder why. The NFL needs to crash and burn.

We are truly lucky to have a leader like Demario Davis on the team. Someone who is intelligent and personable, and doesn't tweet his emotions like Cam Jordan.

I'll forgive Michael Thomas because he's young, and it's a different generation.

People are acting as if Drew changed his stance. Read what he actually wrote. At no time did he say he supports or agrees with protesting during the anthem. He said he missed the mark and and it wasn’t the time to talk about that and he needed to listen.

I served in the marine corps and i will never ever protest anything during the national anthem. Ever! I truly stand behind the people of color during this really fuked up time and i understand that you may not be protesting the flag or whatever. But you aren’t judged by your intentions in this world you are judged by your actions. Whether you’re intent is one thing the perception of it is what matters to the other people. People fought and died for everyone’s right and freedoms to protest but, and i support your right to do so. But, that doesn’t mean if you don’t agree with kneeling during the anthem that you’re somehow tone deaf or racist.

It’s awful that people want to support people of color through this and the entire country was behind you but somehow if you don’t believe in every action taken by this movement you are somehow the problem or the enemy. To me it’s the opposite way around.

Drew Brees has done more for African Americans in this city than any African American walking in Nola in the past 30+ years.
