With the issues going on and the US seemingly more divided everyday, there is a solution this divided country. Break up the Union into 6 European Style Republics. We would of course have trade agreements among ourselves and a common defense policy against foreign agitators like China but I believe this would be much more unifying then our current system.

Doesn't Need to be 6. 3 would probably suffice.

Why forfeit ground when we can take it all?

We need to work out a peaceful divorce process.

How many of you seriously believe this country will exist forever?

We have this, they're called states. This was the original intent.

So bigger states? Doesn't really seem like much of a solution.

You working for Putin and Xi? That would be nirvana for our enemies. Beyond stupid idea.

Yeah, considering that people here despise blue areas (and vice versa), this would never work. If anything, the coasts would probably work with China to take over the rest of the U.S. landmass.

Right. And then what do we do when California invites all of central America and Mexico in? How about when one or both of the coasts just sells out to the Chinese? How about when one of them goes straight up red communist? You want to have a trade agreement and a common defense policy with that?

No. If the anti-American socialist democrats want one inch of the United States, let them pay for it in blood.

The US is not as divided as the media and social media would have you believe. Yes we have our issues but in reality they are small. What you see on TV and on social media are the extremes.

Turn off your TV. Get of social media like Facebook, Twitter, tigerdroppings, etc. Go outside and talk to your neighbors or maybe a stranger. You’ll learn most people just want to live their lives with as little interruption as possible.

The Balkans have been at war with themselves for over a thousand years so, no thank you. However, this country is full of shitty non-contributors today so it may get there.

We don’t need to break up the country. I don’t think that is going to happen. How about we do the hard work of living up to our nation’s founding ideals of equality? How about we address systemic bias and prejudice? Let’s not give up. Many generations in this country have faced challenges and Persevered.

Race has been one of the biggest challenges to our founding ideals. That hasn’t changed. Let’s face it head on and make progress.

Idiot. That IS our current system. Or at least what it was supposed to be. FedGov ruined that, but it is far better than the alternative. Want to be irrelevant and have China's interests dominate the globe without interference or opposition? Break up the US.

A bunch of different countries are immeasurably weaker than a single united one.

Why not break up into 50 states each with their own government and limit federal power?

No, just no.

A more perfect Union would include a strong conservative and rational majority, nationwide.

To concede to anything else is merely a sign of weakness and fear, two distinctly in-American attributes...
