UL won 11 games last year. Came extremely close to winning 12 games. Lost to State by 10 in Nola. It’s arguable that 2019 was the best Cajuns team ever. I forgot how good they were. Tech won 10 games. Also very good. It was cool to see all Louisiana teams dominating last season. Hopefully they can keep it up and we can one day get a top 25 Louisiana matchup.

Napier is legit. Keep racking up 10+ wins and you’ll have a UCF type situation knocking on the American Conference’s door.

ULL is a good school, pretty sure it's ranked in the top four of the state's public colleges behind LSU, LaTech, and UNO, nothing wrong with that from an academic stand point.

UNO? Are you serious? After LSU, Tech and UL are basically tied for second then ULM is right behind them. UNO isn’t even top 5.

1) I’m stoked b/c I live in VaBeach and can’t wait to catch at least a few Cajuns games every once in a while, LSU’s closest match is USC and that doesn’t happen hardly at all. 2) I immediately wondered why with Tech being a huge fit geographically why they weren’t offered, so Google helped me pair up this thread with Tech & sunbelt… I guess the Tech AD never heard the statement “never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut!” I heard the Southland was looking to expand Tech ???? I have a niece that goes there too!

Tech will stay in conference USA and be fine. The realignment shuffle is not over.

The athletic just put out an article that C-USA is in negotiations with Liberty, UConn and New Mexico State. If they can get all three, they can solidify the foundation and rebuild from there with entry and exit fees.

It’s not about making it a good conference. It’s about keeping the conference alive so you absorb the exit fees from outgoing members and entrance fees from at least Liberty. That will help stabilize your program for the next 2-4 years when the next round of shuffling occurs.

The only two school who shuffled at the top were Texas and Oklahoma, wait until you have multiple shuffles at the P4 level and eventually all hell breaks loose at the G5 level as it makes its way downstream. SMU and Memphis have two feet and an arm out the door of the AAC already.

There is a reason this quote is going around so much this week “G5 conference realignment is just shuffling chairs on the deck of the titanic.” This thing is far from over.

Staying in a depleted C-USA is a no-brainer when you look at the financials.
