GOT actress Carice van Houten: GOT fans are ungrateful, petition signers are extremists

"I loved the randomness and clumsiness of picking some guy, which is very representative of the world right now, as crazy people are ruling the world," van Houten said. "I thought it was a great comparison."
Van Houten also defended the show against its detractors, telling Insider that it was inevitable there was going to be those who didn't like the end of the show.
"The fact that some people were so disappointed is because everything before that was so good," van Houten said of the previous, highly-rated seven seasons.
"So it feels a bit ungrateful. You've had such great times and then yeah, you're going to be disappointed because it's not going to go exactly how you anticipated. Of course, you're going to have all sorts of criticisms and I just thought it was a sign of how good the show was."
The only thing that did affect her, because she was upset for the show's writers, was that infamous petition, which now has over 1.8 million signatures and is still gaining more. Petition creator Dylan D wrote: "This series deserves a final season that makes sense."
"That's beyond fandom. That's extremism. That's scary," van Houten said. "Knowing the writers and knowing how f-----g great they are, they don't deserve that.

Melisandra is just auditioning for her next role.

At the end of season 5, the way the show was gonna end was inevitable. It dragged out and dragged out and dragged out and dragged out and then they had 4 seasons worth of material crammed into 6 episodes and it was over. Why they did it that way I’ll never understand but the least they could have done was a split 7th season with 6 more episodes. It still would have been rushed, but it would have been better than what we got.
And if she’s surprised people were happy for years and are now complaining...I mean...people eat at McDonald’s for 25 years and their nugget sauce gets left out of the bag once and they will never go back. People’s loyalty is fickle AT BEST.

She's hot as hell but it tells you something about these actors' mindset when they call people that don't like what they do "ungrateful". How dare the peons aren't grateful for the heavenly gifts they have bestowed on us all with their script reading and playacting

“I’m ok with ruining 8 seasons of buildup for a hamfisted political statement”
Shut up and show your tits bitch

She's right about the petition people being crazy.
I mean, damn, it's a TV show.

Anyone who signs a petition because they are upset that a TV show didn't end the way they wanted it to is a giant loser.

It says something about the people criticizing an actress who was asked a question in an interview just because that person feels a misguided, entitled ownership of a piece of art. Some Game of thrones fans got and remain straight up hostile. Hostility based on a TV show is prime stupidity. I'm not saying this describes you or anyone here, but if we are allowed to bitch and moan and harass actors over the internet, the actors are allowed to complain about it.

So people can’t petition for what they want a company to do with a property they love? If it weren’t for fans online retweeting and sending in letters to WB to #releasethesnydercut it would’ve never happened

Nearly everything she said about why she thinks fans are upset is incorrect.

"I loved the ending. I loved the randomness of just picking a king," van Houten said. "That's why I loved the first season, the guy who actually was king [Robert Baratheon], didn't want to be king, so we already got a lesson in the beginning: 'Why are you striving for that sort of power when, obviously, it doesn't make you happy?'"
Guess she didn’t read about that whole Robert’s Rebellion thing where he willingly took the crown, only to become disillusioned with ruling later on.

Expressing disappointment is entitlement now. GTFO

It doesn't get much worse than people saying mean things over the internet.

The joke's going to be on them when the "Snyder Cut" confirms exactly why WB kicked Snyder off and hired Whedon to do reshoots.
Imagine thinking Zack Snyder is a competent storyteller.
