Couldn't they just tell everyone to "Enter at your own risk"? I don't think they need to make the decision for us.
If you have medical concerns about the virus, then do not attend a crowded game.
(Potential upside of intimidation factor with large "Enter at your own risk" signs at every gate )
I'm sure LSU and other schools will push out this message but public health people are convinced these crowded events are the absolute worst thing you can do during a pandemic. One of Italy's worst hit regions blames their outcome mostly on a soccer match. There is going to be tremendous pressure to limit fans. Just last night the Ohio State AD alluded to best case scenario being 40-50K in their stadium.
I'd love nothing more than a packed TS when Texas comes to town. Get mentally prepared for that not to happen.

If this is the case, secondary market prices are going to spike. Imagine the prices wanted for a Bama ticket with only 50% available seating.

I think the idea of a half empty stadium and the atmosphere that goes along with that will keep tickets from getting too crazy but I could be wrong. I know my arse will want to be in there .

What about the season ticket holders who are 55+? Quite a few big time donors in that 55+ group.
Yea. Well I’m over 55 so if I won’t be allowed in the stadium, send me my money back, Woody !

Here in xxx we have the highest number of COVID cases in AL. The data here is clear that 50+ are the cases with severe symptoms and 65+ are the deaths. I think it’s in LSUs interest to keep those older rich donors alive. I guess keep the suites open but I would recommend not having 55+ in the stadium seats at even 50% capacity. You could still sell out with a younger crowd and not take a huge PR hit because you are being proactive.

If LSU sells only 25% of capacity, that's 25,500+ tickets. Gotta have 500-750 for players families and coaches families. Gotta have at least 5K for students. Probably will have 1250 for visitors. That leaves 18,500 for season ticket holders. I am thinking many if not most of those will be in the special sections/areas of the stadium. There wont be many tickets for those of us who just sit out in the bowl.
Posted on 5/23/20 at 9:30 pm to GeorgeWest
But will those TAF donors who sit in the 100 and 300 levels be willing to sit in the uppers?
Posted on 5/23/20 at 9:37 pm to crownNbull
Not for the same price I pay for 100
Posted on 5/24/20 at 8:53 am to ClampClampington
It will either be a full stadium or an empty one. Can’t see how you can have anything in between? I can see us us wearing mask though?

I just called the ticket office and asked the following questions:
When will the post season reprints from last season be sent out to season ticket holders?
Running way behind due to covid. They will email shipping confirmation when they go out. No firm date on shipping as of now.
When will football season ticket upgrades happen this year?
Working on that right now. Everyone should be receiving an upgrade email roughly the 1st week of june. The same also applies to parking upgrades.
Are there any plans to limit the number of fans in tiger stadium this season?
As of now we are proceeding as normal until directed otherwise.

Patience grasshopper. I think they said on the radio today that it's been about 75 days since the shut down and we're about 100 days away from kickoff.

That’s good to hear.
But be honest with yourself - there’s literally no other answer that the ticket office is going to give right now. It makes zero sense for them to hem and haw until there’s a clear plan.

50% capacity means my wife stays home and I don’t hear nagging

Ohio States plan for those interested

If I am understanding this and applying it to lsu I can imagine they will give you a time based on points and have the stadium interactive display with available seating.....
Similar to how you pick to upgrade....
And after this year go back to your old seats and methods...
Actually a clever way to have people repick for this season....
FYI I have nice seats and worked years moving to end up with them...
However. I suspect I will be screwed for this year....idk
Just guessing here....no idea how it will really play out

I agree with Alt26. Everything is status quo for now, but in the background they’re making contingency plans. First is asking for volunteers to give up season tickets. Maybe a lottery to distribute tickets among season ticket holders.
I’m an older season ticket holder, and I hope we at least get a choice of games . If I’m limited to a couple games this season, I hope I get at least 1 good Conference opponent.

What he said.
My full refund was given for baseball being cancelled. I hold baseball and football tickets. If season is not played or not allowed to attend you will be refunded if history serves any precedent.

Most logical answer.
1) Encourage people over 55 not to attend (voluntarily), at least for the start of the season.
2) Offer 1 year refunds to any season ticket holders who would rather skip this year but keep their seats for next year. Space the remaining tickets out as best they can within the same sections.
3) Adjust as you go. Sell tickets in sections that are sparse. Add more as rules are relaxed.

I posted this yesterday in another thread:
Here are the games at home this year:
UTSA
Texas
Ole Miss
Nicholls St
Mississippi State
Alabama
South Carolina
Reasonably putting these into tiers:
Tier 1:
Bama
Texas
Tier 2:
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Miss St
Tier 3:
UTSA
Nicholls State
Theoretically, each season ticket holder could get 1 Tier 1 game and 2-3 from Tiers 2 and 3, if capacity is reduced to 50%. If it drops lower than that (which it could if recommendations are to keep the total # in the stadium below a certain threshold), then that could reduce those numbers even further.
From a fairness standpoint, though, if there are limits on seating in the stadium, fans should be able to opt out at no cost, and not lose their seats. In other words -- let's say I get the Texas, Ole Miss, and Nicholls State package. I should be able to say "nah, I'm good" but keep my seats for next season, and then I could take my chances on the secondary market.
