you’ve put a lot of thought into this.
however only the OP knows his math and rightfully that’s none of anyone here’s business.

it’s interesting to speculate but certainly not worth any additional effort to do so

Thanks cgrand.

Please everyone, do not believe me. We will continue our path of success while everyone else remains skeptical. Remember, when she first started I was skeptical and a non believer like you. Only difference is I promised myself to keep my mouth shut for a year.

I appreciate all the advice given. I am not giving up my career. I am taking a hiatus. From here I am researching other business opportunities. I have a phone call scheduled next week with a franchise consultant. We will see where that takes us. I am in no rush and want to consider all good and bad with every opportunity before I move forward.

If this is real post a link to it. You obviously have tons of followers so 5 dudes on a money talk forum of the worst team in college football will make no difference

Wait, for you, or as part of your wife's thing?

Im still interested to learn how big her following is, how she got it, and how long it took her. That should not be proprietary info, nor should it give away your website.

I mean i understand not wanting to post your wife’s info but in this case it does sound like she is basically a public figure

This thread is like a money talk board version of a Commander Data thread. Inconsistency, not answering direct questions, poor grammar, etc.

She has over 225,000 followers. That was gained over the past year alone.

She spent 6 months with no pay setting up everything and making connections. She literally worked 7 days a week 12 hours a day focused on the startup.

She went live in February as an influencer. She did way more than we both expected her first month. In March she doubled that. Then COVID hit and that is when her popularity exploded. It has been growing ever since.

We do feel that commussions post COVID will drop, But she landed so many brand deals and has popularity, which I understand is the ultimate goal of an influencer.

All of the influencers she communicates with have been doing this for several years. Most have done it over 5 years. They live in custom homes and do swanky vacations all the time. Their stories include that they were former lawyers or had nice paying professions and quit to be one, their husband ultimately left their job to assist and manage the business,

I left my job because we realized that we were losing more commissions than my salary from working. It put more stress on her and took time away from the business to manage day to day household matters. With success comes risk. While it is a risk, I can always go back to my career.

I may disclose the website to my TD brethren. I want to be clear that if you are thinking of becoming one or you want to convince your wife to do it, it takes a lot to be successful. You have to have passion, a niche, and work your arse off. My wife has barely done anything for herself for 12 months and is all in on the business. I needed to step in and pick up the slack with chores and the kids, and fill a non traditional role. We have not gone on a vacation, spent time with friends, social life, etc. It does not happen easily. It is like an up and coming Hollywood actress attends a family wedding and gets bombarded with random people asking her to hook them up with an acting job so they can become famous.....It takes a lot to get to that point.

I would advise against posting personal information on here. Pics would suffice though.

Is that from experience?

Well she is pictured on her site, but none of the pics show her face.

Interesting. 225,000 is a lot of followers but I guess I thought you had to have a million + to make a lot of money as an influencer.

Agreed. Do not post any personal info.

Congrats on hitting the influencer lotto. If you invest that money wisely your family will be set financially, even if this tapers off in a couple years.

I’m still not convinced you’re in the middle of some kind of pyramid scheme you can’t see. Do not sacrifice long term stability and savings for short sited fun and folly.

I’m not sure this is how real wealth should be measured.

I guess it’s nice to have fun and have nice things, but I want generational wealth to transfer to my heirs as a legacy.

Good luck with whatever this is.

I’m confused by his decision to quit his job: surely he was the provider of the family health insurance through his work? So now they’re likely paying for family coverage out of pocket. Wouldn’t it have been more economical to keep the subsidized health insurance through work and hire a housekeeper/nanny to deal with the home keeping and child minding while he continued to work?

Glad he’s not my spouse: she works nonstop 12 hr days and his response is to quit his job? Lol.
