A federal judge Wednesday temporarily denied a filing by 16 former Watergate prosecutors urging the court to deny the Justice Department’s request to drop the criminal charges against Michael Flynn and sentence him to jail instead.

U.S. District Court Emmet Sullivan said in a brief order he will provide a schedule for interested parties to submit filings. The order also mooted a bid by Flynn’s lawyers to block the group’s brief.

The prosecutors may be able to refile its brief once Judge Sullivan implements a schedule.

What does this mean, why did he start this and now semi-end it?

So they are allowed to opine their opinion on Flynn but not call for him to be jailed?

This "judge" is all over the map. He needs to recuse himself so somebody competent who cares about the rule of law can take his place

I don’t know much about law. But it seems to me this judge doesn’t know what to do.

Why do otherwise accomplished and seemingly responsible professionals lose their fricking minds if OMB is involved? Its quite remarkable

It means the jugdge is being petty because he has to let someone he accused of treason in open court go free. And he doesn't like that one bit.

Messiah Obama likely called and told him what to do. The judge knew he couldn’t do it so he punted to buy some time. That’s my best guess.

Now Sullivan is helping to run out to clock to keep Flynn quiet.

A better question is why is he allowing a group with no standing to become involved in the case?

It sounds to me like this judge is torn between two things...

A) What he damn well knows is "right" and constitutional, and

B) Knowing that he will "commit suicide" via two shotgun blasts to the back of his head if he rules "the wrong way".

these attention seeking, tds judges have zero authority, and sullivan cannot bring charges

this is a dog and pony shoow to create an illusion that flynn is guilty and barrr and ag are corrupt. right before the election they will be touting their bs on liberal media channels
