We very well may have been on our way to italy status if we didnt do these social distance measures and didnt do “stay at home”. Not sure how that can be argued. Also blaming all this on the governor is laughable when he gets most of his info from the white house

had 2 friends that passed away. One was 53 and the other was 50.

Did you miss the “or underlying health issues” part?

And that doesn’t mean only people over 60 or with underlying health issues will die or get very sick

But the data shows that is the overwhelming majority

Do you try to be dumb

Mortality rate for 55-64 is only 1.5%

Not saying you want to get it, but that’s hardly even close to being the “prime” for this virus

Deaths are increasing...people are technically getting off the vents..and dying.

If things were staying the same or getting worse, then the number on vents would be staying flat or going up. That it's going down is evidence that things are getting better.

Did you? His post didnt say anything about people under 60 with underlying health issues. That’s who I was replying to.

If you’re under 60, stay away from people over 60 and refrain from handshakes/hugs/kisses and wash your hands. But otherwise Carry on.

A lot of people bout to say BMI is bs and they ain’t obese.

It’s is BS for segments of the population
Just about every LSU football player except some of the QBs and kickers would fall in the obese category going by height and weight

Where's "home" in Louisiana? I'm originally from Evangeline Parish and there's a place that we never go home to visit without leaving with smoked sausage. If you can afford the shipping, their sausage and meats are awesome. LINK

Maybe try reading it again.

Is there a map of deaths and hospitalizations by parish? If they aren't publishing this, that would leave me to believe it's still highly localized.

I see it now on the states website. The whole Western half of the state should already be opened up. April 30 at the latest

Part of the decrease in vents is possibly due to a better understanding by doctors who have figured out that venting a person too early can and has done more harm than good in many cases. They have started reevaluating the vent standards in regards to Covid-19.
They are understanding how to treat this illness better and better every day.

You always want to be very late in getting a disease. If you got HIV in 80s you were dead. Now you can live a long life. The doctors get better and better at treating.

All of the doom and gloom models that have been decreased daily have all these measures taken into account. That is what has so many people frustrated.

JBE's only mistake, IMO, was the fear mongering he did with the endless comparisons to Italy for LA. That was not needed.

Other than that, he is one of the few Dem governors that actually did what they were supposed to do in terms of soliciting the proper help from the Feds. He didn't make it political at any point, unlike the count from Michigan and the whore from Kansas.
