Have you spent less money in the last month?

Interview on America's First News Radio about spending survey. People are spending less. But the reasons are diverse:
1. A lot of places are closed.
2. I lost my job.
3. I'm worried about losing my job.
4. Stock market is way down.
I've noticed that my spending is down due to '1'. The golf courses are closed. The gym is not billing us this month since they are closed. Plus the gas prices are way down and there's no place to go so I'm seldom filling the tank.
Anyone else see a difference in your spending?

Yes only because 1. A lot of demand will come back quick.

Have I? No, but my wife seems to think we need constantly need to be prepared for a total lockdown for 2 weeks, so the grocery bill is up.

Yep down because of a lot of the same reasons that you state....plus we aren't eating out much anymore....we see an increase in spend on groceries but others areas of spend are way down. I haven't filled my truck up in a month. Usually it gets filled up every week. So that goes from roughly 75/week to 75/month....and that's just one area that's easy to quantify.

Yes. I kinda feel like I'm sixteen again Zach - gas is cheap and I'm grounded.

It generally costs me about 15 dollars to go to work each day ( gas/parking/lunch). I am working from home so only spending about 3 on lunch at home. Also not spending any on entertainment or eating out. I’d say my family is saving about 500 per month altogether over our normal spending.

1 & 3, nothing to spend money on and obviously concerned about layoffs in O&G
I think my credit/debit card usage was like $800 in March, as opposed to the usual ~$2000. Not driving anywhere, not going out to eat, not even really ordering anything on Amazon because I don't have any faith it'll actually get to my house.

That reminds me. The expert being interviewed said that restaurants are not making it with take out or delivery. People want to GO INTO the restaurant. If it's just take out they might as well cook at home.

Yeah, my credit card bill is looking a lot better than normal.
I think the biggest difference is not going out to eat or going shopping on the weekends. We've done takeout a few times but we would normally eat at a restaurant at least once every weekend. I'm sure my wife and daughters not being able to go to the mall is also making a difference.
I've also been having my groceries delivered. I think I'm saving money there because we are ordering staples but not going for the typical impulse buys that you typically would browsing through the store.
I'm still driving back and forth to work everyday, but not really going anywhere else, so my gasoline consumption is way down as well.

Overall, yes, we are spending a lot less. A lot of the places that we go as a family are closed right now and we're being mindful just in case me or my wife loses our job.
So, both 1 and 3 are in play for me. Just in general, not having to go to the office saves a lot of money. No gas, parking or eating out on a daily basis. Probably spending $200 per week alone less just because of that.
We're also doing our grocery shopping online, which means its easier to shop against a budget and we don't make any impulse purchases.
Kids are also not playing sports right now, so no eating out while we're driving all over the place for that.
The daycare not charging $300 a week right now has also lightened the load a good bit.
Long story short, outside of other factors, this type of living makes it really easy to not spend money.

The restaurant industry pressure group said that 2/3rds of the industry would go under.
No idea what their math looks like, or the length of closure they assumed.

I haven’t been spending money on entertainment. And probably dropped my dining out costs by multiple hundreds of dollars.

Because I splurged this last Saturday and set myself up for another two months on top of what I already had, grocery wise.
