Yes the bill has fat in it, but you gotta deal with the Democrats if it wasn't him the Dems would shoot it down. It sucks and it's not right but that is what we have in this democracy created for the people and by the people. If you don't like Democrats then campaign to get them voted out of office. If trump didn't give in to some things NOTHING would ever get passed because that's how evil the dims are they don't give a shite. Now this a-hole is trying to show up the president by being a fricking a-hole. The American people need relief, businesses need relief that's the bigger picture. frick this dude

Nothing getting passed is much better than This bill
The US government is borrowing $20K off the name of every American and is only giving $1.5K to the American and spending $18.5k on other things....this congressman wants people to actually vote on the record on the largest non-budgetted spending bill in American history and he is an a-hole for it???

If we're going to throw $2 trillion on top of the existing national debt, this bill should be debated. The American people deserve to hear the garbage in this bill. They deserve to hear arguments for and against its passage. Massie is today's Ron Paul. He is a true believer when it comes to limiting government, which 3/4 of Americans have ZERO interest in.
All of that sounds heroic and all, but it’s pointless. This bill is going to pass in the House. What’s in it is already out there. If someone doesn’t want to go look for that info, then they aren’t going to listen to the House debate it today. So, now we will have members likely using taxpayer dollars to commute back to Washington just to accomplish the same thing that could be accomplished in a voice vote. And it will be accomplished in person, and Massie isn’t going to stop it.

We have a media and elements of government throughout the country that have created a mass panic that has crashed the economy. As a result, the supposed conservatives here are trashing the most conservative member of Congress for wanting to debate the bill.
The media and Deep State now know that 80% of conservatives will support a Bernie Sanders style bill if you scream loud enough about an emergency. This will happen yearly from here on out because too few people have the balls to challenge these legislative monstrosities.

Can't tell me where I am wrong so you attack, typical.

This. Since the Dems control the House and don’t give a frick being all “muh principles” makes no sense right now. The media will destroy Trump if he doesn’t get something passed he really doesn’t have a choice. If this bill dies the Dems will hang this over Trump’s head for the rest of the election cycle and the sheep will eat it up. Massie, while I agree in principle, is picking the wrong hill to die on right now. Like the poster above said you have to take the principles and emotions out of it and look at the big picture. Trump is making a political calculation as much as an economic one and I think he’s made the right decision.

How is holding up the vote for no reason an admirable position? It will absolutely pass today or tomorrow regardless. He can vote no without desperately trying to become famous.

Yes - you do have to compromise with the Dems....but not everyone has to be complicit to the compromise- as the president said- he can’t stop the bill ...but the congressman is not being an a-hole to make ppl vote on it

I think you are confused, he isn't holding up the vote, he is making them vote and putting it on record.
Is that too much to ask for the largest non-budgetted spending bill in American history???

If he votes no it goes to a quorum.
The vote in the senate was 96-0
If one senator had voted no it would have been debated.

I'm not confused at all. Forcing a roll call IS holding up the vote/passage of the bill.
It just requires half of the House to go back to DC for no discernible purpose.
Do you actually believe putting the vote "on record" is meaningful in any significant way? The Senate passed it unanimously. No one is getting negative ads run against them for voting yes on this.

Wrong. He can vote no on the voice vote without requesting a roll call.

Looks like a third rate Grandstander named @RepThomasMassie, a Congressman from, unfortunately, a truly GREAT State, Kentucky, wants to vote against the new Save Our Workers Bill in Congress. He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous & costly. Workers & small businesses need money now in order to survive. Virus wasn’t their fault. It is “HELL” dealing with the Dems, had to give up some stupid things in order to get the “big picture” done. 90% GREAT! WIN BACK HOUSE, but throw Massie out of Republican Party!
President Trump slams republican member of Congress pushing for accountability for politicians who want to pass a massive spending bill with a substantial amount of pork in it.
Circa 2020.
Colorized.

I don't have a link for that. But a voice vote does not require unanimous consent

He is voting “no” to unanimous consent thereby forcing a formal vote.

Again, for what purpose, if not to delay.
One 'no' vote in a voice vote does not automatically require a roll call.

DJT has the biggest stage in the world. Read Every single of these stupid things out loud. Then ask the American people why they let Democrats add these to bills. Tell everyone receiving help that they would have had more in their pockets of Nancy didn't find these pet projects. End it with "it was your money, they took from you"

It did in the senate.
U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican who represents Kentucky's 4th District, also hinted that he might object to a voice vote in the House of Representatives, which would force all members to return to Washington, D.C. and slowdown movement on the bill.
