Got my notice in the mail today. I feel like this is some sort of trap.

Yes but I did not give them a phone number. If you submit and it then warns you in red text about a phone number, leave it blank and hit submit again and it will move on.

You realize the Federal Government has been doing a census every 10 years since 1790, right? If it were a trap I don’t think it would take over 200 years to spring the trap.

Do you feel that way about the first 22 times the Census was conducted?
If you're smart you'll take a second to fill it out now, otherwise the Census Bureau will hound you until they get the information.

Yes. If you don't, then they won't count you when reallocating your representatives. If you want to be represented, they need to know you exist.

Very good to know. They stalked me quite a bit a few years ago after I answered some questions for them the year prior. Drove 40 minutes out of town to try to track me down at my parents’ house (where I didn’t live) after they had been showing up to my old apartment every day and calling me 4-5 times a day.
