Charles White was outstanding. To think that Marcus Allen played fullback on that '79 team, then started at tailback the following season is pretty crazy.

I was also thinking Reggie White was a monster in '82, but Willie Gault was the reason that LSU only tied Tenn that year. He ran a kickoff back for a touchdown, and Stovall was quoted saying that he heard "beep beep" as Gault passed him.

Does anybody remember Wilbur Marshall at Florida back then? I remember him just having his way with us.

MattStafford was the most impressive specimen on that day . He made incredible throws only John Elway could make. Big Ben was a notch above as well.

Tebow - arguably the CFB GOAT

I'll stick with Tebow, and most of the others that came to mind have already been mentioned - Thomas, Simith, White. But John Hannah should be in the discussion. The GOAT OL.

Not the best player, but the best performance I saw in person was Rex Grossman in 2001.

22/32 for 464 yards and 5 TDs. Could have been a lot worse too.

Yep, and that was two Heisman winners in the same backfield for that game. 99% positive you won't see that happen again.

McFadden played in the Wildcat formation and would take the snap and immediately sprint toward the sideline and turn it up field at the sideline and nobody had a chance. He was a big RB with 4.3 speed in the 40 yd dash. Dude was so fast nobody could stay with him. Seriously, Darren McFadden had statistics that justify mentioning him squarely alongside of Hechel Walker and Bo Jackson in SEC lore. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He’s the only player I ever saw single handedly will his way against LSU. The only other player that I thing even belongs in the discussion is Sean Alexander. Every LSU fan remembers that game.

I'll give a shout-out to Kenny Irons. Second best RB performance I've seen against us in TS. McFadden is #1.

What strikes me as I think about this is how many of the greatest players of all time did not play in Tiger Stadium for one of our opponents. I remember the night we couldn't come close to tackling Shaun Alexander. We almost lost a shot at a championship because we couldn't tackle McFadden. That USC game with Charles White was a classic. But my answer is Tim Tebow whom we beat on a night I have always said was Tiger Stadium at its peak.

Crazy that Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker and Peyton Manning never played in TS.

But cross division rivals and Alabama/Tennessee and all. Makes it ok.

Derrick Thomas was unblockable when Bama played us in 87. I think he just sacked Hodson again just now.

Mickey Guidry played most of that game. Hodson entered in the 4th quarter and threw a pick 6.

I have seen a lot of them since the 1940s and when I read the question the name Archie Manning leaped into my mind immediately and nobody else. So based on that he must have impressed me more than anybody.
