I’m still not buying this argument. If less people are sick, there is less demand for tests.

There are testing locations all across the country that have closed since there is no need. My city had one set up without even a single case confirmed and a week later they closed shop. Still no positive test.

Herd immunity.

Sorry, I was thinking you were saying daily growths have flattened due to testing growth flattening.

Yeah, we have like 12 testing sites in my county now. 2-3 weeks ago it was just like 2 major hospitals conducting tests. The number of positives hasn’t jumped dramatically.

Out of those 14k tests that I mentioned for California 10k of them came back negative.

this shite is a nothing burger on a national scale. Open up most of the country and just be smart on shutting down new spikes by isolating people for two weeks and do tracing.

I agree. What would these charts look like for the US without NY? Uncontrolled immigration and people packed into mass transit. I'll probably get slammed for saying this but IMO the immigration act of 1965 is some of the cause. Just let people from everywhere flow into our country with disease and whatever else.

This is the link to the COVID-19 Country tracker that I have shared on Google Drive. Chromdome's COVID-19 Daily Tracker
This is the link to the US state level tracker that I have shared via Google Drive. Chromdome's State Level COVID-19 Daily Tracker

On the state level tracker the states I have available right now are listed below. I will be adding additional states in the coming days.
Arkansas, Louisiana, New York, Georgia, Florida, California

The source for the data is https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
The source for the testing data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/

On the tracker sheet you will see tabs for the following data:
1) US Summary
2) Country Comparables: This shows you how the US stacks up vs. select other countries dealing with COVID-19
3) Logarithmic Comparisons - Shows the US vs the other countries on the tracker.
4) Covid Vs Other Outbreaks - Compares the current COVID numbers to the last 10 years of flue and H1N1
5) US Weighted Averages - Explores 7 day vs 3 day weight average trends
6) Italy Summary
7) UK Summary
8) France Summary
9) Germany Summary
10) Sweden Summary
11) World Summary

NOTE: The daily growth rate data will not be accurate until the end of the day's postings. It will change throughout the day.
NOTE: I am not tracking individual states, I don't have a reliable consistent source for that data.
NOTE: I am not a mathematician, statistics guru, scientist, sharpest tack in the box, I'm just a guy who likes to understand for myself what is happening and to share it with others. This thread was not created to debate if you should or shouldn't take this seriously, it is simply to present the numbers and foster conversation.

NOTE: I have added a prediction number to the bottom of the data grid. This simply takes the previous days numbers and grows them at the previous day's growth rate. It should give the viewer some idea of what the numbers will look like today. Obviously, the final number for the day will be higher or lower based on what today's growth rate actualy is. This is just a simple indicator.

We will sese what the numbers show this weekend, but this is what the data will mean if either two options happen....

1: If we see high 30k's in confirmed cases today or tomorrow, it means there was a small outbreak in some metro area that hasn't hit the reporting yet. It's highly unlikely to happen since testing has increased and we still have flattended the line.

2: If we are below the last threee day averages today and/or tomorrow, it means the growth rate nationally has once again slown from the previous uesable data. If this does happen, it likely means next week we see a small decline in new cases.

What you want to see to get the most people back to work as possible in early May is numbers not hitting 32K to 34K either day this weekend.

In my state we have seen a major slow in the growth rate.

One landmark I’m looking forward to is the first time ACTIVE CASES decreases. I don’t think it will be long.

Louisiana -9 on vents, 51 deaths (2 less than yesterday), +13 hospitalizations. 761 "new" cases.

Death total thus far 806.

It looks like we won't need those 14,000 ventilators Jon Bel Edwards requested from Trump...

ETA:

Gov. John Bel Edwards and Louisiana have currently requested 14,000 ventilators for use in fighting the pneumonia symptoms of COVID-19, or the novel coronavirus.

I know right? I get that this is serious. I get that people are dying. AND I wouldn't want to be in any kind of leadership position right now.

That said, there's a difference in fear mongering and preparing. I know -- ask for 14K 'cause you won't get that many BUT you'll get maybe what you REALLY want -- like a kid asking for $50 from parents and getting $20 and being happy with that.

But when you've already threatened to cancel LSU football, I can't take you seriously with this. JBE will NOT be opening anything up and I'm about to lose my shite if he extends this any further.

eta: I'm probably just being irrational -- my husband is driving me there for real.

This is an issue. The rest of the country is confined to their home that is likely separate from the next residence and they are still packed on the damn subway.

I posted at the time that JBE asked for the 14,000 ventilators if he had a family member or a big supporter who are in the medical appliance field.

After the Feds agreed to send "only" several hundred ventilators to Louisiana, JBE bitched about it like a little girl which makes him look only more stupid.

Has been much ado about nothing all along

Our little town of 100,000 has had 53 confirmed, no deaths.

So over the top. Fack those who banged the drum and locked down darn near everything

$1200.00, that's walking around money in this day and time.
