Bolsinger is seeking unspecified damages, but they’re not all for himself. He wants the Astros to forfeit the roughly $31 million in bonuses from their ill-gotten World Series title, and for the money to go to charities in Los Angeles focused on bettering kids’ lives, as well as to create a fund for retired baseball players who need financial assistance.

quote:

There’s a message to be sent to youth out there. Especially athletes, more specifically baseball players,” Bolsinger told USA TODAY Sports. “It was awesome to (grow up and) watch game played the right way. We’ve kind of drifted from that. It’s something we can really express to these kids: You don’t have to cheat to get to where you want to go. “This kind of stuff doesn’t need to happen.”

quote:

You can be forgiven if Bolsinger’s name doesn’t immediately ring a bell. Or if you know little beyond that he was the pitcher the Astros lit up for four runs, four hits and three walks in a third of an inning – 29 pitches, to be exact – in an Aug. 4, 2017, game in Houston.

The Astros did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

I fail to see how its the Astros fault that this guy is a shitty pitcher. His ERA was nearly 7 in 2016...who's he suing for that?

This is obviously ridiculous. But, this kind of stuff is just going to continue. Before this is over, pretty much nobody outside of Houston is going to consider that a real championship.

The Astros are just going to continue to get hammered over, and over, and over again.

He had an ERA over 6.00 for both of his final 2 seasons in MLB. Astros weren't the only ones lighting this guy up

Last I heard, MLB wasn't stripping their WS title.

I guess a bunch of pitchers from the 90's should sue for financial damages suffered from juiced up batters

I welcome a court fight.

Would open up to calling witnesses from many teams to prove that it was customary rather than one bad actor.

Has this been discussed here? Seems that if this suit isn’t dismissed, it would allow for discovery, meaning that any and all documents, statements, etc. would lose any shroud of confidentiality, including those provided under immunity. I have no idea if this is true, but I read it somewhere in an article comment on the internet. Obviously this could be a big issue unless they settle or whatever.

Can't blame it all on cheating.

Is he planning to sue the rest of the teams in the league for his failures?
