Love my Instant Pot, and I'm not a big gadget user.
Worst ever was given to me: a ceramic knife. Who wants a knife that can't be sharpened?

The damn Instantpot was a bust for me.

only had it a month and it's quickly moving up the list for me.

I don't really find it saving a lot of time and the finished product isn't anything special

To me it's an ease issue. If I'm doing a quick meal prep for the week I can throw some rice and frozen spinach in there, push the damn rice button and come back in a half hour with my veggies/starches done. Then I throw some ground turkey on the stovetop for 10 minutes and I'm prepped for 3 days or so.

I also do potatoes in there for the same reason. I use it weekly, but it isn't one of my "must use" items

The Bass-o-Matic - I figured it would work on salmon, catfish, etc. Nope. Don't waste your money.

Foreman Grill and a similar electric grill. They work ok but they become almost impossible to clean in a very short time.

I don't use my instapot much but it isn't as bad as the foreman grill. And they sent me a free rice cooker with the instapot and I love the rice cooker so by association I still like the instapot.

I feel like people just refuse to use the guard. Just cut your veggies into more manageable sizes and use the safely they already include

I recently took my InstaPot out of retirement. It does have a singular purpose for which it is very effective and that is cooking beans. I make a pot once or twice a week with a pretty basic recipe of seasoning, bacon, onions, garlic, etc. An hour later, damn near perfect every time and so much better than the canned shite.

This is how I feel. I use it as a no fuss/no screw up rice/spinach for my side dishes for lunch/dinner. It is impossible to mess up and it is no work for me outside of throwing the insert into the machine

Many times the guard won't allow to use a significant chunk of product so people free hand it. And lose a 1/4 of a finger.

Got a cheap small food processor, primarily for chopping onions. Didn’t work and took way longer to chop than with my knife

A $4000 Samsung refrigerator. A lemon in every respect, then if you need a part some guy in China goes to his 3D printer. I was lucky, I made a deal with the appliance store and they took it back. A Frigidaire replacement was half the price and going strong.

Yep.

I do think it's good for sandwiches but terrible for almost everything else

Kenmore Elite double door refrigerator. I believe it was built by Samsung or some other company. Lasted 4 1/2 years and bit the dust.

I use the Instantpot to make mac and cheese. My kids like the gooey/cheesy kind, whereas I like the baked mac and cheese with a crust on top. I'm avoiding carbs outside of beer, so I make it for them. Super easy and cheesy.

I worked as safety test engineer right out of college for UL and I had residential kitchen as one of my product groups. Tested so many shite products, but them actually working as intended wasn’t my job...I just tested them for safety. They were so quick to test they would send us garbage, dangerous garbage. Anyway, we had a saying that these products had a 10 year lifespan...use the once or twice, put them on a shelf, find them in 10 years and throw them away. Pretty much how it went...because they just didn’t work well.
