Story could of been told in 2 seasons. It dragged on way to long. Always enjoy a Knights/kings/etc movies, but they forced it to 3 seasons.

You do realize this is based on books, there are many many more than 2 of them, and that they span most of Uhtred’s life, for many many years, right?
This is a bad post and you should feel bad.

I kind of feel this way about the books
SPOILERS (it’s history, but still...)
The books went way down hill after the death of Alfred the Great and Aethelflad. It’s getting a little silly that an old as Uhtred is still alive and kicking. The last few books have been basically complete fiction with no basis in history or historical figures at all

I don't give a frick if it was 13 books, they drug this shite on. It could of been told in 2 seasons.

F You for making me click this thread hoping to see some news on the season 4 release.

I thought the exact opposite. The first season could have been stretched out into two easily for the following reasons. Spoilers
-four lovers in one season. This is the first thing I thought of when trying to judge the show. It doesn’t make any of the relationships feel meaningful
-I understand the lack of build up with his real father. The lack of build up of his childhood with the Danes is the killer of the entire show. From the third episode on, all you hear is that “He is a Dane and will never fit in”. Well .. how do we know how he thinks. We learned nothing of how he was raised and broken of his 10ish year old Saxon ways.
- the political overviews were terrible and had so much wasted potential. “Do this!” But I don’t wanna and I’m gonna do it my own way oh woah he managed to survive, woo he gets a pass. Then the same thing again - “do this!” Goes his own way. Simplistic and repetitive.
I’ll stop there. Show sucks. Should have stayed a book series where it can build and have time to shine. I may read it. I ain’t watching anymore, that’s for damn sure.

It's been a while but if I remember correctly they seem to go through 2 books each season.
Which kind of makes sense since a lot of the books are filled with battle, attack, and weapons description (awesomely). But that's a 2 second thing on screen.

This might be one of the worst opinions I’ve ever read about anything.
Arseling.

I can’t remember if I’m caught up. It got very repetitive. It was the same story over and over. Just insert a new friend/enemy/character. What side is he fighting for these days?

this is funny b/c i just finished a re-watch of season 1 2 nights ago and i was going to make a thread about it, so i'll just post here
on first watch i did not like the constant recycling of love interests, but now that i've seen it already it's whatever
that first season though, wow. it's incredible. the acting is great, especially Guthrum, Skorpa, and Ubba. they're just so incredible in the roles.
also that final fight is always so emotional to me. it actually really hurts the rest of the series b/c nothing ever comes close to that level of emotion in the various conflicts.
after season 1 the series is kind of a road show, which has its own positives...the Alfred-Uhtred stuff in season 3 is a very fitting end to that arc, though. other than that, though, the weight just isn't as heavy b/c of the lack of overreaching conflict. the Kjarten revenge plot is good, but cathartic on a much lesser level

You dumb earsling!
The story is of the unification of the disparate English kingdoms (Wessex, East Anglia, Mercia, Northumbria). Did you see the unification of the four kingdoms? No? Then no, they couldn't have done in two seasons, you sniveling earsling.

First, could have. Not could of. You embarrass me as a fellow Missourian.
Second, The Last Kingdom doesn't drag on at all and, in fact, is so fast paced that it covers wide swaths of shite through exposition.
Your point is one of garbage and should be placed where it belongs: in the dumpster.
