He never won less than 9 games. Won his division 3 times in 7 years. Never finished lower than 3rd in his division.

Why was he let go?

B/c Nebraska thought they were an elite program, which should be winning 10+ games every year and challenging for the NC on a regular basis.

They were wrong.

They fired Frank Solich for only winning 10 games per year.

They had unreasonable expectations. Those have now been lowered.

He was too basic, fierce, and outspoken for the pearl clutchers in Lincoln.

Nebraska sucked before and after Pelini, but the sensibilities of the administration are safe.

Nebraska is delusional about returning to past glory days. They fired Frank Solich with a 58-19 record, and Pelini with a 67-27 record then the give Scott Frost a 2 year extension after he goes 9-15 in his first two years at Nebraska.

He was mean on the sidelines. He has a potty mouth as well.

And in case you were wondering how they have done since:

He was let go for being successful:

quote:

Pelini improved to 67-27 as Nebraska's coach on Friday with a 37-34 overtime win at Iowa. The victory pushed Pelini's win total past Tom Osborne for the most ever at the school in a coach's first seven years. In fact, no coach in the history of a Power 5 program had been fired for on-field performance after winning as many games in his first seven years. Only Alabama and Oregon -- first and second this week in the College Football Playoff rankings -- can match the Huskers in winning nine games each year since 2008.

The Nebraska QB was against his dismissal:

Tommy Armstrong Jr. ? @Tommy_Gun4 Biggest mistake you ever made.... Bo was the best coach I've ever had and I'll always appreciate the things you taught me. 4,144 10:14 AM - Nov 30, 2014

And several recruits as well:

quote:

Hours after Pelini's firing, running back prospect Kendall Bussey (New Orleans/Isidore Newman), offensive lineman Mirko Jurkovic and Louisiana wide receiver Stanley Morgan all decommitted from Nebraska.

Their instant production expectations are unreal. At the of the day, don’t see Lincoln, Nebraska being very appealing to any athlete lol

Nebraska had higher expectations and he was becoming a PR problem around there so they decided to move on, pretty much that simple.

His epic F the fans several times during a press conference was the last straw. He also called out several reporters, TomShatel, being one calling him a mfer several times. Nebraska got sick and tired of his lunacy and acting like an arse to most people.
