Interesting article. The better question is how a retired HS Spanish teacher affords Lambeth House.

Smaller Texas counties starting to domino re: mandatory shelter in place. Gregg County, TX shuts down tomorrow at midnight. Won't be long until all of the counties in East Texas start doing the same I'm sure. Just a nugget as I wouldn't be surprised to see this trend in smaller LA parrishes very soon.

the entire state of LA is on the "stay at home" order

Tests last 3 days
74,384
65,105
65,840

What is the goal for daily amount of tests to both get on top of existing illnesses and infections and quickly test new infections and their possible contacts?

Trying to see how much progress has been made in past couple of weeks (it may have been listed as tests per week not daily or other but can't remember).

People have said that we need 125,000-150,000 tests per day.

But that's only if we get them really soon. We're still behind the curve. We tested a lot more today, but we still had 16% of our new results positive, and our long-term average is 15%. So, our testing growth isn't yet keeping up with the spread of the virus.

We need to do enough tests to get that percentage under 5% before testing itself can really be a weapon in fighting the virus, and governments can start relaxing rules. In the meantime, we need stronger action to enforce social distancing.

President Trump needs to announce a national two-week shutdown period. Close the airlines, etc. Of course, governors would ultimately have control over their own states, but the President could put enormous pressure on them to act. It needs to be two weeks, because people move around, shop for supplies, relocate to live with other family, etc. -- and the virus actually spreads more in the first couple of days.

The idea that some places in the country don't "need" to be shut down right now because the virus isn't that bad yet in those places is completely wrong. We are already going to be pushed to our limit as a country with things like masks and ventilators, and we can't allow other parts of the country to get as bad as NYC and New Orleans.

I liked Trump's handling of this the first week or so of this crisis. Very strong. Very presidential and very clear and concise.

He's been very wishy washy and talking about how we are definitely relaxing restricting sooner than people expect this week. I'm all for relaxing the restricted at the right time, but I don't like the messaging of "Trust me, this will all be over in a couple weeks....but probably sooner". Feels like the opposite of "Under-promise and over-deliver"

Anyone outside of China really believe China's claim that they've only had 82,000 cases?

FWIW, A lot of people inside China don't believe that number, either.

Just hit 1,000 deaths here in the US. I think we're projected to surpass China in total cases in a few days.

Dr. Fauci on CNN now. Said NOLA and Louisiana should have shut down sooner. The delay is why our numbers are skyrocketing.

Has anyone seen updated data comparing this to the flu? Not to start a debate, but generally curious how this is trending vs this years flu.

As the MSM and their lackeys breathless report that the US is the most this or the most that in the COVID19 pandemic, remember that the US is the only country in the Top 10 most populous countries that is actually aggressively testing and openly reporting numbers.

You can see their playbook right now. The US will surpass China's bullshite numbers this week and the cocksucking media will launch a blitzkrieg of attacks against Trump while praising their master china's response. It's all too predictable and even more pathetic.

Per Fox News

An Arkansas pastor issued a coronavirus warning this week after he, his wife and more than 30 others connected to their church contracted the illness, according to reports.
