The rate of spread to family members – the driver of the infection in China – was 10% early in the outbreak, but fell to 3% with quicker recognition and isolation. The overall numbers are lower than might have been expected, and an important insight for clinicians trying to contain the outbreak in the United States.

This works in DFW because North Texans are generally a little less social than we are here in Louisiana. When I moved to Texas, I had a hard time at first because I did not understand that people do not speak to one another in grocery stores. :)
1/2 my tennis team are from S. Louisiana and we have a separate group of 8 couples with at least 1 spouse from home. There’s also a very large SEC group. We are everywhere and find each other.

You are an idiot.
On a normal day, several thousands of non-Asian Americans travel to China or back every day of the year.
ETA: please never vote for anything.
Are you ignoring the fact that many who are from China and now live in other countries traveled home for Chinese New Year which was at the height of the epidemic there? We have our own poster who was stuck there for a while under those circumstances.

Perhaps we should have a thread for all CV-19 positive posters to check in and post updates on status? Maybe keep the OP updated with everyone’s current situation?

Someone started one earlier. Think it slipped off the front page.

Random thought of the day. This shite couldn’t have hit in August when it’s hot as hell outside and instead has to hit at one of the nicest times of the year?

Yeah but then we’d have lost football...

Meh. I was at 84 in November. 81 when hacking.
Meh, no you weren’t. The lengths people go to to try and show off on here is incredible

You can still go outside.

I'll never forgive it for fricking up The Masters.
Never.
Forget.

It’s unseasonably hot in Houston right now but it’s been super nice.
Mid March to early May is about the best time of the year for drinking outside on the gulf coast.
That “paddies day” was as good as weather as you can ask for

Smaller Texas counties starting to domino re: mandatory shelter in place. Gregg County, TX shuts down tomorrow at midnight. Won't be long until all of the counties in East Texas start doing the same I'm sure. Just a nugget as I wouldn't be surprised to see this trend in smaller LA parrishes very soon.

What is the goal for daily amount of tests to both get on top of existing illnesses and infections and quickly test new infections and their possible contacts?
Trying to see how much progress has been made in past couple of weeks (it may have been listed as tests per week not daily or other but can't remember).
