The future at the end of "All Good Things..." is not a real future. The episode even says as much (the fact that things Picard does during his trips to the past are not remembered by anyone on the crew, just him). Data sums that up during their poker match at the end of the episode.
It was also said in All Good Things that the Klingon Empire had taken over the Romulan Empire. Regardless of the timeline, that would not affect a star exploding and that is the flaw.
I've read those silly countdown comics and they are a joke.
So, in your interpretation of canon, does Vulcan exist in the Picard universe?

It's not a real timeline - it is an invention of Q.

Up to you. I don't claim they are good comics - just that they explain the deviation.

It should, yes. It is destroyed in the Abrams' universe, which Picard is not set during.
The only things that you see on screen that occur in the TNG universe is the destruction of Romulus, Spock creating the black hole, and his ship as well as Nero's being caught in said black hole.
Anything else seen on screen happens in the Abrams' universe and does not impact the original timeline.

So instead of 3 pages of bickering, can anyone give me an actual opinion of how the first episode was?
I cant watch for a while bc I'm on day 8 responding to a cyber attack here locally.
And I don't care about SJW shite in shows, Watchmen threads were full of that and I loved that series.

There's a difference between SJW woke culture and actually being progressive

I enjoyed it. It is somewhat slow building. A set up episode. Patrick Stewart is awesome and enjoyable to watch.

I wasn't impressed, don't mind social or political issues if they're handled smart but it was lazy in episode 1 IMO. I'll watch episode 2 and see if it gets any better.

How bad?
Like TNG where they showed both sides of a conflict, decided to choose one, or interpreted the Prime Directive that only one option was appropriate, but felt bad about having to choose it?
Or like Captain Planet where they have to make the bad guy love swimming in pollution because we need to blindly convince the uninformed instead having a discussion on a complex issue?

You're wrong. The Enterprise E was around and commanded by Data (in thr prequel comics) when Romulus exploded.
Romulus explodes in the prime timeline thr alternate timeline isn't created until Nero goes back in time and destroys the Kelvin.
This isn't hard to grasp. It's sci fi

Do you know the difference between shows made for adults and shows made for kids?

There needs to be a SPOILERS Thread on this episode. Everyone's talking around it but not about the specifics of the episode.

Stewart looks terrible
The premise is that Picard is now an old man who has seen and experienced a lot....he is somewhat tired. Plus given that Stewart will be 80 this year he does not look that bad.

This is garbage compared to TNG. None of the episodes are going to be stand-alone capable. No real deep exploration of morality, just a ton of way too fast paced action and CGI. Second episode filled with profanity so makes it tougher for kids to watch. A shame Stewart will let his legacy be tainted with this terrible show.

The Orville is the only real Star Trek that currently exists at the moment and it’s not technically Trek.

What?
Episode 2 had no action at all

I noticed something in episode one that addresses the Klingon makeup that I missed. During the interview as they were doing an overview of Picards career they showed a picture of him and Worf from "Sins of the Father" and Worf looked as he always has. . I have to think they purposely showed that specific picture lay the foundation of getting the Klingon makeup back to the way is has been for decades
