Yeah but Zion is just different okay??? You can already see it in all that definition he's got. Dude is SHREDDED.

He didn't want to impair the muscle gain by losing fat at the same time.

In all seriousness, dropping weight would be really good for him and his future.

There are recorded instances of people gaining seemingly impossible amounts of muscle due to being injured, experiencing extreme muscle atrophy, then restarting a workout regimen.

But it takes someone who had a great deal of muscle to begin with. Zion kinda fits that model.

That being said I seriously doubt it was 8lbs of pure muscle in a week. I could see him maybe gaining 8 pounds, some of which was muscle, his first week or so of working out intensely after his injury.

Seems like he would be losing weight with ramping up his conditioning to play in an nba game

There’s no way he uses his personal chef if that is what he looks like

Or he’s sneaking in cheat meals in between

Sounded like some Tim Ferris shite.

"I ate 150 calories a day, drank nothing but pea milk, and slept with one foot elevated and put on 16 lbs of muscle in a 9 day span."

Figure 1 pound a week on the high side for a young guy with proper nutrition and a pretty intense building program with no PEDs. Figure Zion has near twice the average man's muscle mass 2 pounds rounded up is certainly plausible. 8 pounds in a month maybe for him, 8 pounds in a week... not even with chemical help.

He's not the first fat NBA player. Maybe the first fat dude that can jump out of the gym.

Entirely possible. I put on 8 lbs of muscle per week last year, now I walk around at 6'and 416 lbs. of fast twitch. Come at me baw

In all seriousness, the average person is a complete numbskull when it comes to exercise and nutrition. You don't even have to dig into the science or statistics, I'm talking common sense...

- "I wanna build lean muscle!" ...as opposed to fat muscle?
- "I lost 50 lbs. in a month using XYZ diet!"...did you cut off a limb?
- "Everyone should eat a plant based diet!"...isn't the average American diet, which is comprised of a shite load of carbs from grain, corn, and potatoes considered plant based
- "Arnold is vegan, look how big he is!"...Arnold built his body on meat, milk, and vitamin S from the time he was a teenager, he switched to vegan (supposedly) in his 70s. If I converted to Judaism tomorrow, would I claim that my Jewish faith is what made me good at my job?
- "Gluten free dessert is healthy!"...technically, a bag of sugar is gluten free
- "Antonio Brown is at 1% bodyfat"...he would literally be dead at that point

Are you SERIOUSLY saying Zion has never worked out? That might be the dumbest comment I've read on this website.

My weight fluctuates about 5 lbs daily (lower in early am). Zion weighs about 100 lbs more than me so I'm sure his weight fluctuates by 8 lbs daily.

No, I meant the commentator that said he gained 8 pounds of muscle in a week never worked out. Anyone who has ever lifted weights to try to build muscle knows how hard it is to build 8 pounds of muscle.

Zion should have been taught nutrition. And put on a diet provided to him.
Why do you think he doesn't have this?
