I’m hearing the Coonman won’t sign bills unless there are safe harbors for those gun owners using their weapons to kill newborn babies. Those rights must be protected!

That is a pretty stupid argument ,and most people that would already have weapons and ammo stockpiled. However I can see how this will suck for people like me who recently lost their stockpile of guns in a terrible boating accident.

Hope you conservatives begin to understand that the policies you want can only be achieved by a white supermajority population

That’s a curious argument to make given the racial background of Gov Coonman, the Virginia legislature, the Democratic presidential field, and the democratic caucus in the house and senate in DC.

I get what you are saying, but the problem is that immigration has been allowed in numbers that overwhelms the native culture of the United States. A second major problem is that this native culture has been cut away from its Judeo-Christian foundation.

Trying to explain this argument in racial terms is ridiculous, particularly given the way such statist policies took hold in Western Europe long before the Hijrah they are currently experiencing. All the European countries (as well as the ANZAC nations) that walked this path in the 20th century did so as white supermajority nations...who had lost their faith in Christ both individually and institutionally.

There are only two “races” in the grand scheme of things...the sons of God and the sons of perdition.

I wonder how many of our fellow Virginians are now kicking themselves in the arse for not voting?

SB69 that would limit the number of handguns people are allowed to buy per month, with exceptions being entities like law enforcement.

So no effect for all of those newly deputized citizens.

Can someone please explain the logic behind limits on the amount of handguns you can purchase?

Sure...if someone wanted to have surgery and have 10 arms attached to their bodies, then they could fire 10 guns at once....the Dems in VA are trying to prevent this.

I suppose my point was it wouldn't stop a criminal from doing something you don't want them to do with the gun

If some gang member wants to go execute someone this won't stop them. Whether they obtain the gun legally or illegally they don't need multiple guns to commit a gun violence crime.

No law will stop that.

Someone should sue saying that they identify as an octopus and this law discriminated against transhumanists.

Already against federal law for a nonresident to purchase a handgun in any state.

This needs to be understood by all. More laws to control people that have proven that they do not mind breaking laws does not make sense. It only makes some lawmakers feel useful, or sound useful to dumb voters.

I believe it is 1 per month.

Gun control advocates will say it's a safety measure to prevent stockpiling.

Couldn't you get around it by getting an FFL and buying and selling occasionally?

Not saying I'm for it, just that it would be one way to beat the system.

There may be some logic but I'm scratching my head there as well

You only need one handgun to shoot someone. What is the proposed limit?

Someone is going to have to create a gun of the month subscription. Kinda like you can get fruit or coffee delivered to your door on a set schedule, you pay a fee to get a new gun every month.

And the Sons of *Insert Religion Not Named islam Here*

I don't understand how people don't see this. It isn't brown people that are the problem. It is brown people who follow islam that are the problem.

Muhammed was a kid fricking cult leader who has inspired generations of barbarism. The crusades didn't go far enough, and I am not religious. The only time a holocaust was ever needed was right then and there. A sacrifice for the history of humanity.

It’s the slippery slope. Once a law stands that regulates how frequently you can purchase a firearm future laws can be passed amending the time frame. Today it’s one firearm a month, in a decade it’s one firearm in a year, and in a few decades it’s one firearm in a lifetime.

Additional detail on the bills. Not as restrictive as I thought but still sucks big time. Both SB 70 and 69 are unenforceable and will be ignored by those seeking to do harm or commit crimes.
quote:

First is SB 70, which would establish mandatory background checks for any transfer of firearms, including private sales. That bill, amid the priorities outlined in Gov. Northam's agenda for the 2020 session, passed the Senate on 23-17 vote, with two Republicans joining Democrats to support it. It exempts transfers between immediate family members and by estate administrators, as well as transfers during lawful activities at shooting ranges or similar spaces designed for target practice. It also exempts temporary transfers that occur while the owner is present or are necessary to prevent death or bodily harm. Additionally, it allows transfers of antique firearms, transfers that are part of a buy-back or give-back program and those that occur by operation of law.

quote:

Senate Bill 69 would institute a "one gun a month" law for Virginia limiting citizens to one handgun purchase within any 30-day period. It exempts those with valid Virginia concealed handgun permits and those replacing a lost or stolen handgun, as well as law enforcement agencies, state and local correctional facilities, private security companies and those with special circumstances with a background check from Virginia State Police. It also exempts purchases made during a private sale for a personal collection of rare or historical items. Virginia used to have a version of the same law, so it would essentially restore the commonwealth's previous rule. It passed on 21-19 vote along party lines. Senate Bill 35 gives local governments the authority to ban the possession of firearms in public spaces during events which require a permit, like protests. It passed on a 21-19 party line vote as well.
