When he started to say his reasoning the first words he said were Johnny Manziel and I immediately cut him off. Not sure where he was gonna go with that, but I never expected I would get so upset over someone talking about the future of a football player whom I've never met. I lost my shite and then realized why waste my time talking to the clueless

Johnny did drugs, booze and girls and didn't prepare for his opponents. He was exposed in the NFL...he never won any championships...didn't break any records...

Burrow is the complete opposite of Johnny football on just about everything.

Burrow ran an NFL offense in college...set records...put on a clinic.

Johnny just made plays running around wild in college...not much thinking was put into his quarterbacking

This is the new thing lsu haters are saying to try to discredit lsu. They cant move the goal posts any further or talk about which looming defense will shut us down, so they have to say he wont be successful in the NFL as if that takes away the arse kickings he gave in college

I probably would’ve lost my shot for a split second too.

If he goes to the Bengals he will struggle. They are terrible and he will get no help from Front office. He will have the weight of a terrible franchise on his shoulders. I pray someone trades up for him. No matter what we think of Joe, wins and losses define a QB. Just hope he can stay alive through his first 7 years in the league until he can hit free agency. Do not kid yourself, walking to Cincinnati is not walking into Baton Rouge.

Key words in title..."at the bar". Manziel never remotely had the accuracy that Burrow has + Manziel's processing/judgment of the field was nonexistent. Mike Evans the freak WR at A&M at the time made Manziel look a lot better than he really was when passing the ball.

If Burrow flops it will be because of injuries or being with such a bad organization that he has no talent around him. It will not be because he isn't any good or lack of preparation.

Burrow will have a rough time, (initially) because of a couple of reasons:

1) Rookie

2) The Bengals

I hope his body holds up enough and he can move to a better team when his rookie contract ends, OR, the Bengals actually get better.

If I were a betting man, I'd go "all-in" on the first.

Cincinnati has been, historically, one of the worst franchises in the league. Their record between 2010-2019 was 77-77 with five first round playoff losses.

Please note - That is considered great by Mike Brown (owner and CEO and son of legendary Paul Brown) "standards".

Here's a snippet from Wikipedia:

Since Brown became owner, the team has had 7 winning seasons out of 27 and has a winning percentage of .414 (182-255-2) in the regular season and .000 (0-7) in the playoffs.[24] In 2008, the Bengals set a record for the most games needed under one specific owner to attain 100 wins (288). In 2010, the team set a record for the fewest games needed to lose 200 (both considering and not considering playoffs) under one specific owner (314).[25]

The Bengals hold a number of distinctions for the time frame of Brown's ownership: It is the only team with three nine-game-or-more losing streaks.[26] It also holds six of the twenty-five 0-6 starts (24%)[27] and four of the thirteen 0-8 starts (31%) in that time.[28]

The Bengals have gone winless in October nine different times in twenty-two years under five different head coaches (Sam Wyche, the first under his ownership, was originally hired by Paul Brown).

Additionally, the team has obtained the NFL's longest active drought for playoff wins during his tenure, with their last playoff win occurring the year before Brown became owner in 1990.

**************

He will need a LOT of help. Not saying he can't do great things, but HELP. (Here's some team stats, to include sacks): LINK

***********
Good luck Joe. I wish you well.

you've nailed it, those are the biggest hurdles for him to clear for having NFL success, ideal situation would be an Aaron Rodgers type of setup where he goes to a good team with an established qb that's towards the end of his career where he can transition into the NFL game as opposed to being immediately thrown to the lions with a shitty team and always running for his life
