I'm sure depending on this ends we can expect Chiasson,Phillip's, and Queen to possibly enter draft along with Divinity. What LBs do you see going forward to step in next season. Clark is a certain. I wonder how much Donte Starks will play ??

Like you said, largely depends on Queen and Phillips. I think Chaisson/Phillips declare and Queen stays. That leaves the following:

Buck: Anthony, Moore, Little, Webb, Ojulari
Mike: Queen, Clark, Bakersville, Starks, White, Sampah
Field: Thornton, Brooks

This will be a big spring for Anthony, Moore and Thornton. All will be seniors with not much to show for it (Thornton has shown some promise). Clark may be able to play on the outside but if the SRs can’t step up, LSU will be really hoping the freshman can.

Not sure who out of the FR will be EE...

I think the freshman will be good in spurts. Sampah still recovering I see him being more impactful 2021 year. Brooks and Clark to me are for sure starters. And I agree this will be a very important spring.

I could see Olujari or Webb starting at one of the spots. Clark and Queen in the middle is a top-Tier middle LB crew, and Brooks is going to take over at either Buck or Field depending on how much he fills out in summer. Stevens stays and wrecks havoc at safety next year with Harris/Hampton rotating at FS, Stingley/Vincent/Flott/Ricks is a nasty DB core and that’s forgetting to mention Raydar and Jay Ward who I think are going to make noise in spring. Future is bright, very bright.

If most of the draft-eligible underclassmen on D other than Chaisson and Delpit return, the defense next year could be elite
... and it really seems people like Shelvin and Phillips could improve their draft stock. I could see Shelvin playing himself into the first round.

No kidding, and they’re both absolute studs. Both are the equal caliber of Key/Chaisson when they were freshman.

Gonna be a fun spring because it may just come down to who are the four most impactful LBs. White certainly will have something to say.

but we run a 3/4, assuming Chaisson leaves and Phillips stays

OLB - Anthony, Little, Webb
MLB - Queen, Baskerville, White
MLB - (Phillips), Clark, Starks, Sampah
OLB - Stevens (Hybrid), Thornton, Brooks (Hybrid), Ojulari

Am I the only one super hyped for brooks next year? It seems like we have one huge defensive breakout every year and I think he could be the one coming up.

I think a lot of it depends on if we win Monday Night..a lot of guys are gonna enter the draft...they’ll feel like they’re going out on top ...if that makes sense

I could definitely see Webb or Ojulari starting at buck linebacker...that was my biggest concern for 2020 ...who replaces Chaisson
