I would ask though.
How did you not see that the supposed centrist Democrats of yesterday were directly creating the issues you now see?
Democrats didn't invent calling everyone they disagree with racists, sexists etcetera in 2016.
They didn't invent denigrating the nation's founding in 2016.
How did you not see that eventually, your followers would draw the only logical conclusions possible from that rhetoric?

My father just officially changed his voter registration to republican.
He is in his 70s and has been a democrat for his entire life. I showed him the political test many have taken on here where it plots your position on the spectrum. He completed it and it placed him left of center.
He says the democrats have gone completely insane.
What concerns him the most is how they have openly embraced authoritarianism, the disregard for the Constitution, their open and clear efforts to overturn an election. Plus he despises the partisan media being a propaganda department for the democrat party.
Paraphrasing what he told me just the other day...
“You have them (democrats) bringing in these supposed experts...academics, bureaucrats...who you have no idea how smart they really are, have no idea if they are actually good at their jobs...but we are told they are the experts. And these people, these unknown, unaccountable, unelected people, are telling us that the President is unfit for office and therefore should be removed. This is the basis for overturning an election. You elected someone that we deem should not be President so we must invalidate the election and your vote. This is crazy.”
