Man if you could send screenshots of this thread to the Tiger Rant of 2017...

Even better...the 2006. Coach Ed Orgeron of the undefeated LSU Tigers ended their perfect season with a beat down of SEC West foe Texas A&M following their dramatic 46-41 win over Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, on their way to the College Football Playoff.

My how things have changed across CFB

And here we were making fun of him for having a binder full of data

Wow ! That's a huge statement from Jack and he's not exactly a talkative guy.

Kardell Thomas status? I thought I read something about him potentially being ready towards the end of the year

What difference would it make? Are you going to bench Ingram or Lewis? I don’t think so.

One of the many lessons learned from mistakes at Ole Miss, which is to his great credit.

Today was a good press conference for those people who think O doesn’t do anything but stand on the sideline and clap.

The analytics behind the program is a big part of the reason for the success. LSU is on the cutting edge of a lot of new things. I’m not saying O is Steve Jobs or anything, but he’s embraced pretty much any change that makes logical sense.

More-less for depth in case something happens to someone. No way he would be in game shape at this point into the season, just an update how his recovery is progressing.

Coach O went out and started building his support staff. He specifically stated that we needed to be on par with the Bama's and Ohio St levels of staff. Between analytics and having the guys that can break down film and put together metrics on every team we play and how to attack them it makes the field coaches' jobs exponentially easier. There's a reason the last 2 seasons we've started fast against most teams which is different from years past.

He definitely knows how to adapt. He also knows how to listen to his staff. He’s a good business manager.

From his presser today:

"First of all, I got to be honest, Derek (Ponamsky) and Austin (Thomas) made that binder. I don't know what the hell was in there, man (laughter). But it looked good, I tell you that."

The reason O is so transparent about everything in this program is because he is confident in his team and staff. O doesn't have the insecurities that other coaches have, and it shows in the way he presents the program. He's not afraid of people watching him or copying because he knows he's legit, and that is the mark of a champion.

He was given zero chance of success... so he had nothing to lose.

O being a smart tactical coach, leaning on others and using data to make decisions. NO ONE saw this coming. What a story.

Maybe he could still contribute as a backup?

They do the same thing with the barbells in the weightroom.

They have cameras that track how fast the barbell moves, and the strength staff can use the metrics to load and unload weights. Training for explosion.

O's running a hell of a program.

So, you want us to believe O is a quant?
He is a lot of things, and has done a great job, but this is not plausible.

Ed knows college football. From congratulating past recruits at the Auburn game to having locker room footage of him acting like a pirate after the Bama game, Ed knows how to get the recruits.

That's 90% of it.
