I know this gets talked about daily, so please forgive me.
Its time to replace our 10 year TV in the living room. Budget is around $2,000.
We currently have a Samsung and want either the same brand or LG.
I cannot decide between Samsung or LG, much less the different series in each brand.
Samsung:
Q90 = $2,200
Q80 = $1,700
Q9FN = $1,800
LG:
B9 = $1,800
C8 = $2,500
What are yall buying in this range and why? Thanks for the help.

Have had two LG TVs just stop working. Have had several other brands, never had it happen to those. LG customer service was crap on this issue. Will never buy again.

B9 can be had for $1199 at Best Buy right now. It’s a slam dunk at that price.

I have more TVs than I need to own but that gave me a lot of experience with many brands. While the picture quality on LG TVs is fine (I am watching one at this moment), WebOS is HORRIBLE. I could not dislike it any more. Many basic apps like ESPN are not supported, a few others crash routinely, and navigation is far more difficult than it has to be. The command hierarchy is bewildering. While I have some small issues with Samsung’s OS, too, I would buy Samsung every time over LG. Your mileage may vary...

LG 65 inch OLED at Best Buy for $2,099! I've seen OLED side-by-side with Samsung QLED, and I'd choose the OLED every time!

Any LG OLED is just a superior TV for picture quality to the Samsung QLED sets. Just inherit to the technology.
I wouldn't be too concerned about either for smart TV functionality. You end using a Fire/Apple/Roku anyways.

Saw a 65” LG OLED at target that had horrible picture burns. Is this a common problem with the new LG OLED tvs?

I just bought a 75" q80 and it's awesome, and the room don't have to be pitch black to experience a great picture. The q80 makes everything look better

Need help as well. I’ve made my decision on the Samsung QLED. Costco has the 65 inch Q70 for $1,200 with a 5 year warranty. I’ve been looking at the Q80(not offered by Costco) and had my head set on that one, but I like the Costco price and warranty. Would I notice a big difference between the Q70 and Q80?

Get the cheapest one. The price will be half that on a tv 8x as good in about 4 years.
Q80 is a beast.
You wont be able to tell the difference.
Hell. A $900-1200 tv would be just as good.

I just bought a Samsung Qled Q70R and love it. Best tv I have ever owned and 4K programming is amazing.
I also bought the Harmon/Kardon HW Q70 sound bar with Bluetooth subwoofer to pair with it and love the sound it produces.
My only complaint is lip sync issues when streaming video. The tv and the sound bar have sync adjustments. And while I can get it close, depending on streaming service (YouTube tv is the worst) I haven’t been able to match the sound to video perfectly yet. It is so freaking annoying to me.
