I did a month long neurosurgical rotation in BR. I worked with several of the guys there. If I ever need brain surgery, Kelly scrantz is doing it.

The better question is what doctor diagnosed you and said Good Luck Chuck.... without a referral. Id like to avoid him/her

Check out a list and note if any have done fellowships in the area you're focused on. For example...
quote:

Dr. Scrantz continued his neurosurgical training by completing fellowships in minimally invasive and complex spinal surgery, as well as complex skull-base brain tumors.

Dr. Daniel Yosher, Houston, a brain is a terrible thing to risk...
I am so sorry, I can relate, our son had 2 surgeries to remove tumors, by god’s grace and mercy and Yosher’s skill you would never know if he were talking to you...
Get yourself to MD Anderson ASAP, they are doing great things with advanced treatments, my wife is currently being treated by MDA...

Correct, even if this mass isnt skull-base, fellowship trained skull base surgeons are who you want to see for brain tumors.

Go see Dr Culicchia in New Orleans. Interviewed him, Scrantz and another neurosurgeon on Northshore. Saw him last and glad we found him. His approach was more sound.

I have family that works with him, and Wag and his group at BR Neuro are constantly getting recognized for outstanding work. Highly recommend.

You supply a cordless drill, a hole saw, and a melon baller, and I'll do it for free. I'll provide the whiskey.

Good luck to you.

Can’t say enough good things about Dr Cullichia. I was scared to death when they found my wife’s aneurysm. He explained it all and was very easy to deal with. It all went off without a hitch. You can’t even tell she had that surgery.

It always floors me when people with serious medical issues insist on staying local. Is it really that important that your brain surgeon be located in fricking Baton Rouge??
