Teen brand? Teddy fricking Roosevelt used to wear Abercrombie & Fitch

One of the weirdest brand transformations ever. I remember when they had a store open in the New Orleans Riverwalk in the 80s and they were still a legit outdoor clothing company.

Didnt realize that.. kinda crazy, since I remember that song being a hit in the summer of ‘99, which was ‘only’ 20 yrs ago.

Never did. I'd have rightfully been kicked out of bands if I did.

I think I remember it too, i believe it was at the very far end of the Riverwalk, nearest the Quarter(?)

I definitely remember on that same end, from the time the Riverwalk opened- there was a Banana Republic, and a Sharper Image next to it... speaking of brand transformations, BR went from a jungle , safari/outdoor theme back then to basically upscale metro wear today.

Seriously

I was looking at shotguns a few years ago, and the seller had an old side by side, branded with A&F. It was a beautiful gun.

i still have 3-4 A&F tshirts from 20 years ago that i wear when doing yardwork. they have the highest quality cotton ive ever seen.

Same here. I have a couple of plaid button downs that won’t die. They’re thicker and from the early 2000s when I was in college. Great for layering when it’s cold or doing yard work in the fall and winter.

I’m 52 and wearing an A&F hoodie right now. It’s quality stuff, and you can buy it on sale for super cheap.

I’m 30 and wear Abercrombie jeans and button ups. Jeans are comfortable and shirts size well.

He fricked Jennifer Love Hewitt during his brief famous period. She made him wear two condoms.

Same here. I’d be tempted to buy some more if they are still that good.

Went to the A&F store on the Champs Elysees a few years ago. Very high quality stuff and actually had things that decently-dressed adults could wear. I was very surprised considering I only knew it from malls as a teenager.

Damn, the replies are making me think I should’ve gone inside. Maybe A&F is on the precipice of a comeback and this thread is what will kick start it

When I moved to Dallas in 1983, I used to go look at their guns. They had big game rifles that I couldn't afford, and lots of what my then 21 year old arse thought of as safari clothing. They had great camping, hiking, and ski wear too. The store was at Preston Rd. and Northwest Hwy.
