Don’t get me wrong, improved safety and reliability are definitely appreciated, but I’m a bit old school when it comes to features. My wife and I bought her a new Acura RDX and while she loves the features, I hate them. I’m sure they are pretty standard on most cars with technology packages. I hate not having a knob to turn when I want to change the radio station or source. Instead I have to use a touch pad and stare at a screen while trying to drive in heavy traffic. I also dislike cars that by default shut off every time you stop at a traffic light. The RDX doesn’t have a way to permanently turn this feature off. You have to remember every time you start the car. If I move my foot a little while at a stop light the car either starts again or shuts off. I hope the starter is high quality. If I need to gun it to pull out in heavy traffic, I have to depend on the engine starting and being quick enough if I have the radio up and don’t realize the engine isn’t running. Though this car doesn’t have it, I am not a fan of built in alarm systems. I’ve had several cars where there was some sort of inconsistent bug that would prevent the car from starting that could never be duplicated at a dealership.

Give me simple controls with blue and red for climate control, knobs that I can develop muscle memory to operate without having to stare at a screen, and less stuff that will break and have to be updated with software.

I love having a backup camera, and satellite radio capability.. besides that, i can take or leave the lane change warning, power lift gate and most other features.

I hate the prices, and for some- having a car note.

Just more things that will have to be repaired.
Those repairs will probably be expensive too.

Preach!

Although I have figured out the engine cutting off thing. Takes some getting used to.

What I hate is the damn auto braking where the vehicle brakes itself. Someone came around a sharp curve in the opposite lane and it read it as someone in front and slammed on the brakes on me.

I hate how the factory infotainment systems are so integrated into the dash that it's difficult to swap out after companies cease support.

My car has zero knobs, it's the greatest thing ever. You're old!

With you on this one, rented one once that did this, it's the worst.

Give me all that stuff you don't want!

How does the default shutoff work with your AC. Say you are in dead stop or 1 to 2 minute stop traffic during the dog days of summer. Does it somehow keep the AC cooling?
This has to be a drain on your starter and battery..

Automatic locking doors.
Move a car just few ft. from 1 area to another everything locks.

I've only ever had one car that did it, and it wouldn't do the turnoff thing if it was over (or under) a certain temperature.

My truck has this feature. There are sensors in the vehicle and it starts back up if the temperature in the cab goes up 2 or 3 degrees. I find myself turning it off or letting off the brake a little during the summer.

Supposedly they don't use a regular starter. It's designed for the auto start stop feature.

I bought a 2018 sierra left over for this reason.
2019s came with it. Cant permanently disable, have to do it every-time you start it. I have no idea why they couldn't make a permanent setting. I was also scared of longevity of the engine and starter.
The most wear and tear on an engine is at startup.

All SUVs and midsize SUVs look like minivans.

They all suck.
