I agree, but you can bet someone like McKay or the other doom and gloomers would have bitched about the new airport not having back up generators in place if they had waited until the last minute to move them.

The airport could have rented temp generators so that neither the old or new airport would be without backup power.

I’m sure the contractor sold them as “new”, moved the existing ones to the new terminal and pocketed the money. That’s how NOLA rolls.

Back in 07/08 msy would have the power go out quite a bit. Planes would land and not be able to find the way to the gates.
