Just looking for a small pistol to keep in the night stand and maybe do a little target shooting with on the weekends. Probably won’t do much cc. What are some of the best cheap options on the market?

For a budget pistol that's small enough to cc if you want but still decent for target shooting I think you'd be hard pressed to beat the Taurus G2C.

There are better shooters, better cc guns, and better shooter+cc guns but none of the others cost $200.

I'm a fan of the S&W MP shield for the price.

Ruger, don't be too cheap if you are buying something that may save your life

If that's the budget than that's probably the best. They're supposed to be reliable at least

I love my g2c. Right now you probably could shop around and find for 180 or so. I like the feel of it and it holds 12 rds too. Trigger not great but for the cheap price I cant complain. Wouldn't fault you for looking at the M&P shield for just a little more in price.

This. My podnuh has one and it doesn't compare to my glock 19 in terms of comfort etc but it eats through whatever ammo he puts in it without any issues. It's a tough gun that goes bang when you want it to.

For pistols? Absolutely not.

Not the pistols. The carbines are fine for what they are. Avoid the pistols like the plague.

I would say the M&P 2.0 is the best gun for the money right now. You can find them for around $400.00

Where? Wife needs a Christmas present.

Nevermind. Found it myself.

PSA. Where else?

I have a G19, AR15 AND A SHOTGUN.

I reach for the shotgun when I hear something at night every time.

For some reason this reads like you live in Somalia or something lol. How often do you hear something at night that requires grabbing a shotgun?

Is that a modded 870?

Police trade in Glock or m&p are great for the money.

Why?

For the OP, I probably wouldn't get something with 6 or 7 round magazine capacity. I'd look pretty hard at a CZ P10C or of you ever plan on carrying, a Sig P365xl.
