any experiences with their ARs? Looking at an entry level gun and saw good reviews on this gun:

quote:

PSA PA-15 16” Nitride M4 Carbine 5.56 NATO Classic AR-15 Rifle with 13.5” M-LOK Rail, Black

I don't intend to do much to the gun so I'd like to keep the cost in the $400-$600 range.

this is the first AR I've even considered getting so I'm trying to keep the cost low and don't want to attempt a build.

I got one of their lightweight uppers with pencil barrel and NiB bolt carrier for really cheap earlier this year and it has worked well. I use it as my tractor gun so it gets very dirty and neglected and still functions properly.

I prefer my PSA Midlength to my carbine. Both were the cheapest offerings they had, just want to get truck/tractor guns.

Friends of mine have them and don’t have any issues. I’m about to start a new build with one of their stripped lowers this week too.

Their components are very well made. SOME of their components actually come from FN, who is right down the road, when they have contract overruns.

BUT... I have seen assemblies come from them (like complete uppers) with questionable assembly quality. This is almost assuredly because they have a bunch of guys in a warehouse throwing these things together.

You are 100% OK with ordering from them. Just get someone who knows what they are doing to spend five minutes checking the rifle out before you go shoot it.

Some things I have seen come from them -

Loose or improperly torqued barrel nut

Castle nut not staked / loose

Loose pistol grip

Things of that nature. All easily fixed and, as everyone else has said, the rifles work fine other than that.

I have 2. They both function well. I sent one lower back because it had a cosmetic defect and they replaced it quickly. Great customer service.

You should buy the upper and lower separately.

Complete Lower For $120

Complete Upper For $220

That is what I would do/have done. That way you can make it a pistol with a shorter upper if you want.

The pic I posted is of there 11.5" nitride upper that I swapped out to the magpul hand guard.

It's also cheaper that way isn't it?

Usually. They have to pay a tax for built firearms.

One word of caution tho. Their BCGs are known to come unstaked.

I have purchased lowers, uppers, and BCGs and am really satisfied. As mentioned in other post, a lot of their stuff comes straight from the FN factory. Also, bought a Gen 3 AK from them a few months ago and extremely satisfied with it.

I been looking at them hard since they came out but haven’t pulled the trigger. I’m also looking at the K-USA version but it cost moare.

Not full on PSA but a lower and Lower build kit with a .410 upper. Haven’t shot yet...it’s on my 9mm lower but I have other psa lowers to build for it.

The banshee 9mm with cmmg arc mag

Full psa 12.5” .308 build.
