Sounds like she fricked Jake in accounting.

Sucks that you would marry for the “poocy “ as you call it.
If you love the woman you do whatever you need to do.

It depends on the situation. Is the guy marrying a 22 year old divorcee with three kids? Or is he marrying a mid 30 year old woman who divorced for legitimate reasons? One is a schmuck, the other isn't.

My uncle in Lake Charles, mid 1960’s, married a wonderful woman with 8 kids. He had 3 of his own. They then had 1 together. Perfect “Yours, Mine, and Ours” deal. Happiest family I’ve ever seen. He put all 12 through school, and retired from Pitney-Bowes and also retired Methodist minister.

if the guy is able to provide a stable father figure in the kids life, then my opinion of them is pretty high

Came here to say this.

It would depend on how many baby daddies she has.

While I was never put in that situation, personally, I don't think I could do it. However, both my father and father-in-law are men who did. Both stepped in to provide a stable father figure for children who needed one (my dad to my brother and sister; my FIL to my wife and her brother).

Today, my brother and sister have no contact whatsoever with their biological father and wholeheartedly consider my dad their dad as well.

Same for my wife. She hasn't spoken to her biological father in nearly 20 years and has no inclination to do so ever again. As far as she is concerned her step-father (my FIL) is her "dad"

It takes a selfless person to come in and be a needed father figure to kids that aren't his.

Good for them. Kids need someone else in their lives.

Not everyone is an uber selfish prick.

I see it often: a man who has married a woman with 3 or 4 kids on her own. I cannot fathom getting involved in such situation. The woman’s value significantly drops with kids. It has to be these desperate dudes are unable to get kid-free poocy

knew a guy from LSU ls that did that, he was a confirmed lifelong bachelor and sophisticated international playboy that refused to commit or have a steady gf all through school, was married to a woman with 5-6 kids within two years of finishing law school

It’s easy to have that idea when you’re young. When you’re older and most women your age are already married with children, your options are limited unless you are willing to date women much younger. That’s fun and all, but doesn’t always lead to a lasting relationship.

My wife and I both had kids from our first marriages. Never been a problem having a blended family. Neither she nor I were ever desperate for companionship from the opposite sex post divorce. I should add that we knew one another from our younger days and both her kids and mine were raised right. Can not deal with disrespectful little brats.

Toiling to raise children that aren't your own blood is basically admitting you are a loser in life. You lost the game. Plain and simple. If your blood, sweat and tears support the bloodline of another male, then you have lost the game.

wow, that's a pretty strong opinion, what about adoption or fostering kids to give them a chance at a decent life?
