Let me finish up the sports one first if you dont mind. The better one, imo, is the best sitcom of all time. Thats one that has been suggested multiple times.
The only thing that would make the character bracket tuff is that so many people like different characters from each show. There are multiple characters from each show that are a toss up for me at least. You're going to get hounded by "man he's not even the best character on the show this thing sucks." Also, doing only paid network shows would limit the amount of voters/ballots.
Just a few thoughts from a guy who has been bitched at a lot for doing something just for fun

So many great characters hard to pick the top. But I would go with Larry David, Tony Soprano or Omar Little as my top 3.

I guess what was just mentioned about the Got characters arent HBO characters so its kind of invalid, but, just to keep the conversation going...
Arya is my favorite book character (BY FAR) and it transferred over well for quite a while. Like %99 of things, I hope her book character goes a different direction than the show.
I %100 see why Tyrion is most peoples favorite, and he's one of mine. But Arya's story for 5 books/seasons gave me the feels a little more, had a little more character development and was more badass for the most part.
Also, as far as the show goes, I dont put Dinklage's acting on a pedestal/think he was the best actor. Thats blasphemy for most, but because people are so blown away by his acting, I think it's overrated. Not that I dont think he is a good actor, just a little overrated. There were multiple occasions where he was trying to muter up tears and couldnt do it. Downvotes im sure for even slightly hating on his character.

If you say you like a person better than another, then you could live with that person being on the how opposed to the other right? I hate his character, so in no way would I prefer a spoiled evil brat over one of the deepest and easy to roof for characters on the show.
