Congratulations. That’s awesome. There really is nothing like it.

Can we get a pic of your wife when she was 8 1/2 months pregnant?

Congrats on the new child. Never take for grated anteing with her. Dont just assume that it will always be good or bad. Just do the best you can with her every single day.

She is going to make you feel like this a lot. Then at times, she is going to make you question your decision of not pulling out.

Love her everyday and pray she is never taken away from you.

Holy cow, mines 22 and started Sr year at college.

Time fricking flies, baws.

Congrats to OP. It’s the beauty of raw, undiluted love. You swear there’s no way it can get more and then somehow there’s always more. Thank you Jesus.

BUckle up butter cup.

A few words of advice. Take every opportunity to sleep that you can.

Take every opportunity to keep your wife well rested.

Enjoy every minute. Even the hardest ones. And there will be hard ones.

One of the truest things I heard as a parent is this,

"Parenthood, where the days are long, and the years are short."

One thing we did when our little guy was born is we tired to take some sort of pic of him every day of his first year. After that first year, I had all the pics printed and give it to my wife as a gift. It was amazing to see how much he changed over that year. I highly recommend that sort of project for new parents.

Well, at least she's a senior, and those years are almost over.

This

Mine is 10 now, but I still remember the exact moments the op is describing....and there is no better moment in life than that, as far as I know. Mine is still a great kid and brings me lots of joy, but I am worried about the next handful of years.

Congrats and thanks for sharing. My wife and I haven’t had the easiest time getting pregnant. After over a year of medication, doctor’s visits, and trying, we’re 5 weeks in and still in the first trimester. We’re beyond excited and a little terrified. This will be our first. Just praying for a healthy baby, whatever it is. Cheers.

To the OP read this and read it well.

The days will be long but the years are far too short

Another poster posted this and please realize this now. The years are SO SO short. You have 18 summers with your children. Make the most of everything even the early wake ups and the puke that will at some point end up on you.

We just sent child number three off to college out of state. After 27 years of having kids at home, idk what to do with my born-to-be-a-momma self. I hope I did enough with them/taught them enough while they were here/loved them enough. It goes by so fast and I love my two sons dearly but there’s something special about a mother/daughter bond.

Congratulations on the sweet blessing. Love her — be patient with her — and treat her mother well so that she will know how she should be treated.

I'm sure this thread is full of love your child advice and they are right.

The one piece of advice I can give is never forget you and your wife come first. Things just got a hell of a lot harder to remember it's about you and her first.

My mother always told me that you can’t really understand that love until you had one of your own.
Yeah, yeah, yeah I would say to myself.
Then the instant I saw my daughter, I knew exactly what she meant.

Congrats!! I have a 3.5 year old and a 10 month old. Every stage is awesome and you will be on to the next one before you even have time to realize that your in it. Be patient. Don’t take out your lack of sleep or frustration on your wife. Help each other out even when it seems like the last thing you want to do. You’re dealing with a human that is entirely dependent on you. Enjoy it! Best feeling ever.

Thank you for posting this. My wife is scheduled to be induced tomorrow morning and I’m excited to meet our baby. We didn’t find out the sex. We’re gonna be surprised. Congrats and cheers to you and your wife!
