Sitting here watching my wife and newborn sleep

This is my first child who was delivered a beautiful 6lb 2oz of perfection on Tuesday morning. We just got home from the hospital this afternoon as mom was recovering (c-Section)
It’s amazing how life just feels like it is through a different lens.
Im 35 years old and have always heard the cliches like well all have....
It will change your life forever, it’s the best thing that can happen to you, there’s nothing like it
Even though I heard the words and thought I understood, I didn’t. What a miracle it all is. How it all comes together, it is just amazing.
Has not been an easy last few days, but very rewarding. I have a feeling of ‘satisfaction’ or something similar / better just from being able to soothe my daughter and keep her tranquil to allow mom a few hours of much needed sleep before feeding time. Who woulda thought watching someone sleep could be so enjoyable?!?
Anyway, I don’t post much but just wanted to share the joy and emotions with someone - anyone - at 4 in the morning.

Baby girls will steal your heart. Nothing sweeter than “I love you daddy”.
And then you blink and they are growing up. Cherish the times you have when they are little

Thanks all. Just kinda crazy reflecting on a few short years ago how the priority on a gameday during the fall would have been beers by the bucket full and where are we watching the game.
The game is still a priority, sure, and I’ll have a few cold ones, but just kinda crazy how things change with the ebbs and flow of life. Awesome!

I used to hate the sound of babies crying until I heard my daughter's.
Treasure it all. It goes quick.

I’m up too. Second is 2.5 weeks old now.
I miss sleep more this time around.

You really don’t know what love is until you have a child.

Woke up at 3 to help my 3 year old go pee. My 5 year old just came out of his room asking to watch his iPad. Just shut the bedroom door and went downstairs to have coffee and watch some TV. Put the white noise on in our room before I left so my wife can sleep in.
Congrats on the kid, you’ve got a lot of early morning Tigerdropping coming over the next five years.
Update: the 3 year old woke up to take a dump. Tried to have a go on his own, but I heard him stomping around up there so went to check on him. shite smeared all over his arse. Good stuff. He’s got his iPad now and the house is back at peace.

Never forget this moment, imprint it in your mind, recall it often
Your wife, your children are your priority-
Jobs, friends, and the rest of life come and go
But your wife and children are the one constant, the one priority-
Congratulations and thank you for sharing

Have a 5 week old. Been up a few times tonight - and currently - hes our third child. It is very awesome to see mom and baby sleeping. You're doing a good job even if its frustrating, keep it up!
