He is a guide that flies to the islands and fishes.

Theophile Bourgeois. Been a charter guide for decades. He runs a charter service out of Lafitte and takes clients to the Chandeleur Islands in his seaplane. He calls in every Saturday AM on Don Dubucs show and gives a report. Seems like a real stand up guy. I hope all aboard survived!

Man, really hate to hear this. Have always followed him online and seems like a great guy. Hope they all make it.

ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. — A person was killed and two others were rushed to the hospital after a plane crashed in waters off of St. Bernard Parish Sunday, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.
Around 2:55 p.m., a seaplane with three people on board crashed in the Chandeleur Sound, east of the Mississippi River. Coast Guard rescue crews responded to the crash and recovered all three passengers via helicopter after locating the wreckage.
One person was pronounced dead. Coast Guard officials said they were in the process of identifying the victim and notifying their next of kin.
The others were rushed to University Medical Center in New Orleans, where they were reported to be conscious while undergoing treatment.
Coast Guard officials identified the plane as a seaplane belonging to Bourgeois Fishing Charters, a fishing service out of Barataria.
No further details were immediately available.
This is the second fatal plane crash in the area in three days. On Friday afternoon, a plane crashed south of the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, killing WVUE News anchor Nancy Parker and activist pilot Franklin Augustus.

That really sucks. Prayers go out to his family. I just took his plane trip a little over a month ago. 100% class act and genuine guy. I never once felt like the plane was unsafe, or if something we to happen we couldn’t just land it with ease.
The trip was always on my bucket list. I’m glad I got to make it with him before he passed. That’s really tragic news.

I spent a weekend at Theophile’s place in early May with a large group. This was my first visit and the best weekend of fishing and fellowship I’ve experienced. Theophile was a solid guy and ran a class A outfit. The staff there shared his love for the salt water and insuring their guests left with the best experience possible.
The plane trip to the Islands was certainly on my bucket list since I left there.
This is terrible news to hear for all involved. Prayers to the two fishermen that are injured. I have no doubts Theophile did everything in his power to insure their safety during the flight.

Unfortunately yes.
Word is they had two planes out today and storms came up when they were headed back. One of the planes went one way and Theophile went the other way. They lost radio contact with him around 3pm.
