Get one that’s more poodle than golden. Ours is half/half and that fricker sheds like it’s his job

Why is a rescue dog's life worth more than a purebred?

Well I am not a fan. Guess it’s a good thing I don’t hunt rabbits

They’re cute and cuddly, BUT

I’ve not met one yet that wasn’t crazy AF; always jumping on people, rough with little kids (just wanting to play, not malicious).

Have a pure golden and he’s got plenty of energy but tame compared to the doodles I’ve been around. Just my experience

I have a mini golden doodle and he is a very good dog. Does not shed hardly any just find a couple tumble weeds of hair every once awhile in the house . He has only had one accident ever in the house since we got him and very smart.. Took me only one time on the shock collar for him understand what staying in the yard meant . They are very energetic dogs and very lovable/affectionate to anyone

This isn’t meant as a personal attack on you, but why people will pay this much money for a pet is beyond me. Especially when there are hundreds of thousands of shelter/rescue pets available for basically next to nothing...

I've only known one and I hated him. And I'm a dog lover.
It might have been an issue of an owner not understanding discipline and training, but this particular one constantly barks a loud shrill bark, is constantly needing attention, and is not that friendly. Basically a crappy version of a regular lab. Has the negatives of a lab but none of the positives. Very high energy, attention seeking, extremely neurotic, but not intensely loyal, protective, or child friendly like most labs.
Also, like someone earlier said- a chick dog.

Have a mini golden doodle. Ours is a very smart dog and well behaved for only being about 20 months old. Very obedient. It only takes minimal training for to teach it tricks. Ours was born already fetching. Very protective of my wife even more so than my kids. Little thing earns her keep letting us know if someone is around or coming to the door. Barks at the back door when she needs to go out or wants to come in.

I let it run with our neighbors Brittany Spaniels and ours started even started pointing some waiting for the command "go" to chase squirrels or rabbits. So now, it's my rabbit hunting dog as much as my kids dog. Stands by my side while shooting trap. Likes to swim in our lake but not the pool. When it gets bored she will seek you for attention though and prefers to be by your side.

Only negative is if we let her hair get long, burs and seeds get matted in her hair. I've been impressed with our little mutt.
