Biggest mistake is not respecting O. He out coached quite a few teams last year. And he will Herman as well

THIS!!! I live in Austin. When the head coaching position was open, there were tons of UT fans believing without a doubt that Saban was going to be the new head coach. When you asked them why they believed that their reason was, “it’s the University of Texas” while giving you the DUH! look.

And when Sabin showed zero interest in the job, it was like HE was the dumbass instead of them.

If defense wins championships and Big 12 defenses are so good, why can’t any big 12 teams win a playoff game? I say their defenses are designed to stop the up tempo, throw it all over the field football of their conference but they can’t succeed outside of their league. We can still line it up and run power right down their throat...how they gonna stop that!

Edit: they do have a great QB, which is why they can score many points. But they think he is good enough to score 40-50 points on likely the best secondary in the country.

He was pedestrian throwing the ball vs GA with a much more more experienced team.

He ran well, particularly in the RZ.

Sam is a very good QB. They believe that their safeties will roam to stop the run. They’re not worried about the LSU passing game because they see better passing in their league. They believe though they’re replacing 8 starters on defense the new guys make up for it in talent even though they’ll lack experience. QB run has given LSU fits in the past like Mississippi State. This was what my Texas buddy told me yesterday.

So needless to say I can’t wait to watch it with him

Texas has a good program, good players and a good coach and so does LSU.

Offense give the edge to Texas
Defense give the edge to LSU

Both teams will score over 20 points and if this game is a high scoring affair with both teams going over 30 points then I give the edge to Texas as Herman will never put on the brakes. I just see it in "O"s demeanor on the sideline and with a lead he gets conservative with play calling and for sure when he gets close to the red zone.

Not bashing "O" but I just do not believe "O" is suited for an all out fast tempo high scoring offense.

I hope I am wrong and will be happy to admit it.

Any fan from either team that is chalking up a win for this game is looking through rose colored glasses

Pretty sure if you browse any top 10 teams message board right now they have very high hopes

Everyone is undefeated

I’m pretty sure this board has been very confident in early Nov the past 8 years.

Texas doesn’t run an air raid offense

Seems reasonable, hopefully we are just more talented and a better team making any reason moot.

Looks like last year on those dates we would've been looking at 78 - 82 around 630. While not what you would call pleasant still not scorching and our boys are more than use to heat

Yea, the heat index was 109° yesterday in the new Orleans area. Baton rouge was 108° I think they can handle it...

That was unseasonably cool. I would imagine it will be somewhere are 90 degrees at kickoff on September 7th.

Also, nobody on Orangebloods(premium site) is questioning the strength of the LSU defense.
