I wouldn't say Herman is necessarily a superior head coach. He really hasn't proven himself at this level to the degree many people think. Upset losses to Maryland (2 years in a row), OSU, and W. Virginia. They barely squeaked by Baylor, Kansas, and Kansas State last year. Sure they beat Georgia. I will give them that, but so did LSU in a much more significant way.
I live in Austin and there are still quite a few Texas fans who are still not sold on him. Certainly looking up over Charlie Strong, but this idea that he is the next Saban, Dabo, or Meyer is unfounded. He's not even in the same ballpark. Maybe he will be, maybe not, time will tell. As far as the game this week, It will be a good game. The horns are no slouch. THey have a great QB in Ehlinger, but let's see how he does against real DBs.

I work with some of their season ticket holders and have no clue about the type of Tiger athletes that will get off the bus at Memorial Stadium. They are wildly overconfident and disrespecting the Tigers. They do believe that they will score at will on our defense, and our offense is Les Miles grade. They are totally uneducated on Joe B’s skills and no knowledge about numbers 1, 2, 6, WR’s. The venue will be jacked, but the Tigers leave town with a 31-17 W.

Seen a couple of interesting things here...my two cents:
1. It’s gonna hot in Austin...LSU players LIVE and PLAY EVERY DAY in a SWAMP. Really? The heats gonna be an issue? It’s not. This is dumb
2. UT has a bunch of new defensive starters...LSU has an entire new offense. This is probably a wash. Maybe slight advantage LSU just because offense knows where it’s going.
3. The Georgia game...completely irrelevant. We both beat Georgia. Neither of us is fielding the same team that beat Georgia.
4. SEC defenses can’t stop a big 12 offense...this might be true versus someone else. LSU has a bunch of hybrid type players that makes this not apply. Bama sometimes fields a fairly heavy team...3 years ago. This is something you could say when you play Auburn or Mississippi State. Not LSU.
The bottom line: there is no obvious advantage. Neither team has an obvious edge. Outside of homer stuff...it’s a toss up.

Nah. I live in Austin and I can say that Bama and A&M fans would easily be more arrogant than Texas fans. Not only are they more arrogant, but just plain dumb.

I think bama fans wear that crown.
Gotta go with UT here. BAMA has every right to be arrogant. FIVE titles under Saban and i’ve lost count of the NC appearances.
UT on the other hand has 1 title in ages but walks and talks like they are Da’ SHITE incarnate!

Dead heat IMO.
And after this year Bama may have to eat some additional humble pie...

Talking to all the Longhorn people I know, they are confident and hanging their hat on the Georgia win and the "archaic offense" LSU runs.
Next Monday will be epic.

On Sept 7 It will be 102 with 19% humidity in Austin which is a "feel like" temp of 99.7. Baton Rouge only gets to 99 with 36% humidity which is a "feel like" temp OF 104.2. It will actually feel hotter in Baton Rouge, the temperature in Austin shouldn't be a factor.

Aranda has been preparing his defense and specifically the LB corps for this game since the UCF game ended.
UGA, playing a UT team that lost double-digit starters since then, stopped preparing after the SECCG ended.
Tigers fidna eat.

The current argument is that LSU was only beating LA Tech by 4 with 8:00 remaining in the fourth..
Let's dissect 2018 Texas schedule (Away):
Only 4 true road games (3-1)
1. TX @ Kansas ST
-W 19-14; K ST finished (5-7)
2. TX @ OK St.
-L 38-35 ; OK St. finished (7-6)
3. TX @ TX Tech
-W 41-34 ; TX Tech finished (5-7)
4. TX @ Kansas
-W 24-17 ; Kansas finished (3-9)
Bottom line, you can take stats from the previous year and present them in any manner you want. All that matters is what happens on the field this year. Going into DKR, i have a ton of confidence in this LSU team. TX will field a very disciplined and hungry team, but i don't think it will be enough to defeat the tigers. LSU by 14

Yea, the heat index was 109° yesterday in the new Orleans area. Baton rouge was 108° I think they can handle it..
ah yes, that dreadful heat index. gotta factor in "the heat index." gonna kill ya cause you fail to consider the index of heat and the misery factor that goes with it. bring your jacket in the event you find some shade.
