Serious answer:
1) Just pay the difference
2) Tell them you already paid the agreed on price and if they're going to insist on an increase then you're going elsewhere and want your money back.
If you go with option 2, one of two things will happen:
a. They'll pay you back and you go somewhere else and your daughter will be with different kids and teachers that she isn't comfortable with.
b. They'll agree to let her dance this year with no increase and they'll actually hate you or you'll assume they hate you everytime your little girl isnt picked to be the top dancer or whatever the frick dancing schools do to honor kids that are good
Just pay the difference

State law requires them to give you 3 1/2 days notice before a price increase.
3 1/2 days based to when? Classes start in September.

Surely there is some form of contract you've signed at some point with them that covers this kind of thing.
OP, since your kid has enjoys it and you're not gong anywhere, just pay it and tell them next time they should do it before enrollment starts, for obvious reasons.

Tell them you want a discount on the incredibly overpriced recital outfits.

You paid the full price by the deadline. I can't imagine they could legally change the price they charge you and actually collect it, but I'm no lawyer.

My first inclination is that we paid the price that was in effect, and we should not be hit with any extra charge.
you are correct. this is the risk a company takes offering annual payments

you are also correct
and they know it

Dance school owners make bank.

Sounds like to me you filled your contractual agreement under the 800 price and therefore should be immune to another price increase after the said transaction was completed.

Just ignore the email, and when they bring it up to you tell them you were under the impression you had already paid in full. You will eventually end up paying, but I would at least make them a little uncomfortable in having to acknowledge they screwed you a little

Obvious answer is buy the dancing school, fire the person in charge of finances, build it into the best dancing school in the country, then leave it to said child when she's an adult just as a gift
No, you start your own dancing school at the same rate you paid previously or less to put the other dance school out of business.
Then laugh all the way to the bank when you start increasing the prices.

OP’s a puss. They’re extorting him and his response is to come here and cry to us. Queue The Godfather, “ you can act like a man!” gif

Let one of the other dance moms complain and just reap the benefit.

Tell your wife to put her "let me speak to the manager" haircut to good use and talk to the owner.

You won't be able to dance your way out of this one, but the kid might if she's learned enough.
