I’m sure he wasn’t having fun. It was widely reported at the time how he was getting the screws put to him by rich Paul and by extension Lebron, to get mediocre talent on the team overpaid just because they were Clutch clients. Everyone saw that he also wanted certain players on the team or use the threat of leaving to get what he wanted.

Not sure why this is so shocking, anyone with half a brain knew this years ago.

Yeah, it's like you glossed over the sentence that triggered the LeBrohnies

quote:

“The reason is LeBron is getting all the credit and none of the blame. And that’s not fun for people,” Griffin says.

He's said pretty similar things about not enjoying his run in Cleveland in multiple outlets as Woj pointed out. Most of his answer here was fairly diplomatic, but it only takes one sound bite to undo it all. His "I didn't enjoy winning a title" story never got negative attention until this interview where he said something that put LeBron in a bad light.

But he said that exact same quote on the Woj pod from almost a month ago. The difference then was that there was other NBA news. I think that is why Woj tweeted that defense of Griff. Everyone with a brain already knee this but I am still happy he said it. It had to be miserable to be held hostage every offseason.

Exactly why I think he was so miserable.

It is hard to plan from one year to the next if you are having to re-recruit your star every offseason and being expected to trade off all your assets to satisfy his whims.

Would Griff have any credibility if he wasn’t in the front office with Lebron on team?

Would you have a job at ESPN if it wasnt because of having some inside info on KD? No.

It’s absolutely absurd but Griff definitely should have known better.

How do we get some of those mass downvotes going??

Cause frick this hot take

EDIT: just to be clear, this was partly in jest, though I do think it's dumb to blame Griffin for ESPN catastrophizing over a non-story to fill time

F*ck Lebron, F*ck ESPN, Good for Griffin for saying what he has on his mind. If people are offended.....too bad.

Lebron offends me with that stupid arse face and his Ceaser like attitude, like he owns the NBA. Kawhi owns the NBA because he wins it on his shoulders like a man, no crying about everything. Shoots his free throws and then plays defense.

Good for Griffin, he has a voice and now he is the voice of our beloved Pelicans. His leadership win bring us a Championship....

This is also definitely one of those stories, like the hearts pouring out for Lin because he is upset he is going to have to leave the NBA to go make millions overseas, that is only a "thing" because it's the dead period and shows like The Jump have to fill content.

This article comes out a month ago, like any of the myriads of interviews where Griffin expressed this same sentiment, including on ESPN, this just washes through the news cycle without any controversy.

Because of the size of the bronsexual and Laker fanbases Griffin is now the bad guy, an idiot, etc etc etc.

He’s 100% right on everything he said. He’s mentioned all of this exact stuff on numerous podcasts, too. The media fricking sucks.

I don't think anyone who actually matters thinks that Griff is wrong, or that he is the "bad guy".

The media is just making a story about this because it's a slow news time for the NBA.

Griff is speaking the truth and it’s obvious. It’s not surprising that LeBron and his crew of flunkies would come to his defense. Just waiting for JR Smith and Damon Jones to speak up.

A lot of the attacks are from people saying “He won a title!” without acknowledging that the way LeBron forced them to build that team pretty much limited them long term while he was on the roster and flushed it down the toilet when he walked without notice. For the third time in his career.

Hell, a few of the big decisions made by the team post-Griffin, like trading Kyrie, were directly related to LeBron being unwilling to give a straight answer as to whether he would stay, meaning they couldn’t build past the current season.

His cuz got the Clippers Paul George. If NAW shows as much potential, he just might get us Bradley Beal before the end of the year.

Lol, it was relatively easy to see that LeBron was leaving. What person thought he was staying?

The way it was built was essentially going to have him leaving as the only option. They weren't good enough to keep contending. The players couldn't grow. Especially after Kyrie gets traded.

He's knocking it out the park on The Jump right now.
1st point was that the reaction to the quotes proved his point about how the problem is the media overblowing everything related to Lebron.
2nd point was how come ya'll ignored all the Pelicans parts of the story.
