Nursing assistant and in need of a rotisserie chicken and the whole “I forgot my purse on the bus” is one for the ages. This scam artist was more than likely looking to set you up, and have her crew waiting outside the store rob you.

Reminds me back in 2012, the homeless lady on College Dr that claimed to be stationed at Ft Polk and needed bus fare to get back to base. She was using an old green, DOD card, that was clearly not her, and didn’t realize, she was trying to scam someone that had served on Active Duty, where the CAC card was used to get on base. This happened around the same time as the pop-a-lock scam artist was harassing Baton Rouge.

What was she going to do once she got the chicken?

Is she going to jump on a bus with no money?

She obviously wasn’t in the area where she was originally going.

The delivery is always the tell. Had a dude come up with a long and drawn out story. Didn't take a break in talking for you to cut him short. I almost gave him money but after the story went for more than 3 min, I decided it was BS.

Same dude came up at a different location a few weeks later and had another story. I stopped him and told him I encountered him previously with a different story and he got out of there pretty quick.

Seems like you can usually catch them off guard if you ask some simple questions. They don't typically think further than the concocted story they have in their head.

Sounds sketchy to me. More of a refined scam but a scam nonetheless.

Yesterday after work, I stopped at HEB to pick up a few things. I never give bums anything (money or food) as I refuse to support or enable their lifestyle.

A nicely dressed lady comes up to me and looks very stressed out and asks for my help so I listen. She says,

“I’m extremely sorry to bother you sir, but I had to run off the bus. I’m a nursing assistant, and there was a fight on the bus so I had to run off and forgot my purse. All I need is if you could pick me up a rotisserie chicken inside?”

I told her I didn’t have any cash on me and walked away. She obviously wasn’t a homeless but I guess I just thought the request was weird. As I was checking out I saw her on the phone at the customer service desk still looking extremely stressed. I guess I’m feeling bad about it today and not sure if I should’ve helped the lady out. I prob would’ve given her a ride, let her use my phone, or helped her if she were broke down...but a rotisserie chicken???

That's an odd request, given the situation. Libtards and SJW's have put us all on guard and made us all skeptics.

Regardless of appearance, if a person asks me for food, I’ll buy the food for them (within reason).

If there’s a Subway next to a Ruth’s Chris, I’m providing a sub.

Honestly, this is usually my go-to response as well. I will not ever hand out cash, but I will purchase food.

Should've helped her baw. If it was anything shady youd at least have the story of the time you bought a crackhead a rotisserie chicken. Now you just have this lame arse story of you being a pretty garbage human being

I will buy them food though. I am a Christian and an American and I wouldn't feel like either if I walked away. I always tell them "I don't give out cash, but come inside and I'll buy you whatever food you want." You never really know a person's situation.

If I were rich I'd help people out. I am too poor to spare a dollar, though. So I guess the answer to your question is if it wouldn't break the bank, then help her out.

BTW, most homeless are not there because they "want to be." Most are seriously mentally ill. Do you think people actually enjoy living on the street and eating out of trash cans? GTFO with that shite.

I've got enough dough but my policy is I don't even break pace or make eye contact with panhandlers, almost all are scammers, plus it's a security risk, one bum gets your attention occupied and his bum buddies give you the bum's rush and roll you, ain't worth it, I give in many other areas, not just $, but lots of volunteer work, frick 'em
