For those asking, this was Delta 1425 from ATL to BWI (Atlanta to Baltimore). Aircraft diverted to Raleigh, NC where it landed safely

Wow I'd be terrified of a piece of that breaking off and causing an explosion that detached the wing or something

I guess I’d be less freaked about the colonial woman out there churning butter

Go to the back and ask for some strong fricking drinks so I wouldn’t be cognizant enough to know I was going to die.

And the funny part is that if don’t stay calm with possible impending death on an airplane, you can be federal charged.

The engine was off. That's just the wind moving the fan.

Just shut of that engine and do a nosedive. It should come right out.

For any of those that haven't had a near death experience, it's actually quite tranquil once the initial panic subsides and you accept you're probably about to die, it's almost like a floating feeling and you just become numb.

ETA: but yes, I would definitely be concerned looking at that.

I would not sit in any of the seats near the engine.

At least they didn’t lose that piece. Can probably just bolt it back in. No biggie.
