MD80 class most likely or a canadair

That’s a Pratt and Whitney JT8 engine on the MD80s.

If you’re going to lose an engine in flight you rather have it closer to the fuselage than on the wing. The operable engine will give you less asymmetrical thrust than if it was further away.

It would make me feel bad because the best I could afford was steerage on an MD-80.

Wow I'd be terrified of a piece of that breaking off and causing an explosion that detached the wing or something

Well that’s an MD88 or 717 and the engine isn’t attached to the wing.

I really despise flying on those things. They go by an amazing array of different names, but they're all miserable pieces of crap: 717s, DC-9s, MD-95s... why isn't there a "barf" emoji?

I see it now. The vomit stream is clipped in the toolbar, but it's there.

Just shut of that engine and do a nosedive. It should come right out.

Must be the thinking behind the new Boeing MAX.

If it is a nose dive to the ground then your choice of words is very accurate

Losing an engine isn’t that big of a deal.

Needs to be addressed but happens everyday. Pilots are trained to deal with it.

In some aircraft, it isn’t even an emergency.

Like Ron White said, that one engine will take them all the way to the scene of the crash

Curious, if the engine is off, why are the bearings glowing red hot on the front fan, wouldn't it lock up?
