how can Texas be 33rd in higher education with UT and A&M?

ETA Nebraska seems to have their schools in order. What a shame that state is so boring

Yeah I'm sure if it was only the whites, Louisiana would be top of the heap.

Or could it be that we continually defund education and healthcare any time we need a dollar?

There's not a real correlation
La spends more per student than many. Alaska spends third most, and gets little for it
God studients make good schools

Weird how Utah spends so little per student and gets a high ranking.
Yeah, weird. What are the demographics like there?

How is Texas so low when every Texan talks nonstop shite about how awesome their schools are?
Posted on 7/8/19 at 12:45 pm to MLCLyons
Education is largely ranked by test scores.
The student, and the environment they live in,plays a huge role in these rankings.
There is a correlation in these rankings and other characteristics of the states being ranked.
I wish these rankings would go away because they are fairly meaninglessness lead people to draw improper conclusions.

Based on the sheer volume of white idiots I knew in Louisiana, I wouldn't really concede his point just yet

I wonder why?
Goes to show everyone that pouring more and more money into education doesn't necessarily fix the problems.
People have to want to be educated first.

What else is there to do in Nebraska? Especially during the winter.

As unfair as it may have been, the segregated school I attended in 1950's Louisiana was far superior to the current public school in the same location.
Posted on 7/8/19 at 1:26 pm to FLObserver
Honest question, does this only consider public schools? Because if so, there are large populations in LA not measured in this study. Probably a larger percent than any other state
Posted on 7/8/19 at 1:28 pm to bad93ex
I think a lot of the schools in Alaska are probably in some remote village with extreme poverty.
