I prefer not to. My wife and Her family think they should be locked at all times. I think they some scary bitches.

Depends on where you live.
My folks in Kenner keep the doors locked.

I don’t worry about it too much while we’re home. Having a German Shepherd helps.

I don’t but my wife does. I’ve been doing yard work before and tried to come back inside and the door was locked
Maybe she’s trying to tell me something

We do. If we’re going outside then obviously not, but locked if we’re staying inside.

Doors are locked at all times. We live in a fricked up society today and my kids and wife are not worth taking the chance.

Yes. I knew someone who lived around the corner from me at the time who’s house got broken into during broad daylight while he was home. He chased him throughout the house until he ran off.

No, but I live in a gated HOA.

What's the rationale behind not keeping them locked? When we're outside, we don't lock the doors behind us, but if I come in from outside, my default is to twist the lock - it's a habit. I grew up in the 70's in a small town, and I know doors were not locked during the day, pretty sure they were at night.

I live in Florida in a gated community with guards so yes, we keep the doors locked.

I really do not want to waste time unlocking doors to prove I am a man while at home. They are all locked except the main entry door when I am home.

I can't stand this shite.
I stepped outside for a short walk at my cousins house and come back 15min later and the house is locked up with 7 people inside. This was at 11am in nice new neighborhood in NE Arkansas.
Lock my doors at night. Thats it.

front door locked always. back door, which is inside locked gates, usually unlocked.

Yes, but I have a pit bull waiting inside if you breach it.

If out in the yard working, the door is unlocked as long as I have eyes on it. If, say I was working in the back yard with the back door unlocked and went around front, I lock the door.
Too many crime stories in the paper about people being robbed due to them simply not locking their doors.
