Say what y'all want. Watching so many SEC teams, and other teams, we miss out on a lot of decent recruits and bring in guys who apparently can't hit, run bases, thrown strikes, or hit with power.

It's all on Paul.

Down vote all you want, but we can't even find ways to beat in-state schools who can't win their conference.

That #1 recruiting class last year begs to differ.

I disagree - the issue is development and teaching; the talent is there

These no. 1 recruiting classes, where have they gotten us last year or this year?

They do a great job recruiting. It's clear from a couch coach that the lack of a hitting coach is what's killing the team. Very undiciplined at the plate.

I don’t agree with that. I think the bottom line is that we don’t continue to teach the game at a high level.

Recruiting isn't the problem.

I think development has something to do with it.....think about guys that have developed from a hitting standpoint at LSU like Deichman they we're developed by Cannizaro.....think how much a guy like Cannizaro would have helped Cabrera.

We brought in the #1 class last year bra.

Bottom line is two fold: injuries this year are ridiculous whether it's bad luck or coaching/development program.

And CPM needs to hire assistants that are worthy of our program...Ochinko was a great player for us but it's ridiculous to pay him as a hitting coach with zero experience doing so.

That alone IMO is a fireable offense of supreme stupidity.

ETA: Forgot Nolan was the guy on salary. If we need to pay for a recruiting coordinator then something is wrong because I feel like with NCAA structure CPM needs to get off his arse to start recruiting and do his freaking job. We know Alan is recruiting the top quality pitching coming in...barring injury.

He does not do a good job at roster management. Yeah, I know the LHP got hurt, but why was the roster relying on 1 LHP?!?

Which is fine. What you people fail to recognize is that the difference between #1 class and #40 class isn't that wide, meaning just about anyone can field a competitive team.

But recruiting guys that are all 5’7” and 160 isn’t going to cut it

Same shite as Smoke.

Recruit top flight classes...most of them go pro and you end up sucking hind tit.

Skip found the guys that were good and could be great, but weren't going to be drafted out of high school. Not universal, but his "get" percentage was great.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but I still downvoted because of this. Don’t be that guy.

Well, we are in a state that produces very little talent and is on the lower end of the scale when it comes to income. So we have to go out of state for a lot players and that takes up scholarship money. And we can't get the depth that some state schools can get because the second tier players in the state would rather take a scholarship at another state school instead of walking on here because it's better for their family financially.

What do you think we should be doing? I mean, despite those limitations, we still bring in highly rated classes.
