If we're leaving miniseries like Band of Brothers off, I'd have to put Game of Thrones at #1.
I mean, look at M*A*S*H... that really got bad at the end, and the finale was depressing and awful.
That doesn't take away from the sheer brilliance of a lot of the early episodes.
Same thing applies to GoT. We saw multiple seasons of BEST THING EVER, and a sloppy landing.

Deadwood is my #1 followed by the wire. I had the wire #1 until my rewatch...deadwood, for 3 seasons, is perfect. I can't wait for the movie.
